UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

calling someone a DEI hire is such a boring cop out. a black woman can have a two masters in a relevant field and 8 years of experience and still get her hiring minimized to DEI hire when they’re replacing the old guard

In 14 years as a men’s basketball head coach, Davis has received five Coach of the Year awards while guiding two programs to a total of 270 wins, five conference tournament titles, and eight NCAA tournament appearances, including one Final Four.
if that reads DEI hire, i’m actually floored.

Considering he could probably make more as a janitor at a big ten school i'd say probably not. Big game today that I feel is a must win for UNH. According to the computers it would vault them in the top 15. Stiven Sardarian, with UNH 61 games played 21 points, with Michigan Tech 54 games played 62 points. I guess the player devolvement issue comes into play here.:ROFLMAO:
Muszelik also in top 10 in CHN's 'Hobey Tracker' which uses their 'CHIP' rating, a WAR type statistic comparing players across positions.

Outrageous and despicable claim to make without providing any form of evidence. Truly vile.

If you have some claims on the part of the athletic department that support this, please share.
There's a reason Chuck Murray is called Buford. He has the intellectual acumen and cultural development of a Mississippi state trooper circa 1956.

We knew one thing... a team from NH with a Canadian forward named Cam MacDonald was winning this game.

In the battle of Cam MacDonald, Cam MacDonald with a convincing win with 1 assist, +1, 3 shots, went 15-6 on faceoffs. Meanwhile Cam MacDonald had no points, was a -2, and only 2 shots. Cam MacDonald completely dominated Cam MacDonald, despite being the 3rd line center vs the first line winger on an undefeated team.

3 cheers for Cam MacDonald, the forward from Canada on a team from NH... I'm talking about UNH Cam MacDonald, of course.
I did notice that when I saw the lineups. My daughters, however, were more interested in the fact that singer Tate McRae's brother played for Dartmouth :) UNH's Cam is a stud in the making. In fact, Cam, Felix, Jacob, Sam, and Alex are all contributing and should continue to get better. Kudos to Winters/ and the coaching staff for helping them to acclimate and play team defense!!

Going to post at this time so it fits Klinefelters hours of operation

The new poll has UNH well out of cracking the top 20. Behind the powerhouse Augustana.

I’m not saying they are a top 20 team but call into legitimacy of the poll. Three straight against ranked teams with 2 away at Maine. Dartmouth didn’t move so is it UNH is good and the Big Green stay at 8 or is UNH not respected as a legit team? If so then Dartmouth should have dropped.

I do not think that any of these polls matter a Whitt (heh, heh), and I pay them zero attention. I think all that matters is the almighty NPI ranking, and in that Dartmouth is no longer #1, nor did Michigan State remain #1 after we upset them at the beginning of the season. And now Maine is treading water trying to stay afloat thanks to our r3cent visit in Orono. UNH may not make the postseason, but it is fun being spoilers! 🙂

Last season Hockey East teams helped each other in NPI rankings because the conference was strong. This year very mediocre. It’s going to be difficult for any HE team to move up much playing league games unless a team puts a big streak together.

Hey Norbert. They did crack the USA today poll at number 20.

FWIW dept...Everything College Hockey has us at 15..but we all know polls don't mean much in the final analysis. It's the work you do on the ice that matters most.

Getting to the NCAA's seems daunting but getting to the Garden seems possible...
Yup. All that we need to do is win two games, the MBPBEGAM game in Orono and another one somewhere else 🙂

Of course, I could be more optimistic that we will have home ice for MBPBEGAM game, win, and and then beat PC in their barn.

You are now pessimistic after predicting 20 wins for last years team. You are out of sync with reality. You are the George Castanza of the UHN faithful.

As you know… UNH has two games in hand, as does Northeastrn. If those were to balance in a likely scenario you would have Northeastern in 3rd and UNH in 4th. So UNH is essentially hosting right now. If UNH plays the 2nd half like they way they’ve played the month of December you would host and be an odds on favorite for a trip to the Garden.

You are spot on Sparkman! What happened to you? At this point, Maine and UNH should be rooting for each other to win out.

Its eerie how similar the vibe feels now to the same time last year. Granted, the Alfond sweep is a much more meaningful result than anything put on the board in the first half of last season, spirits were very high heading into the break with a 9-4-2 mark.

I remember a few posters on here throwing cold water on the high expectations and thinking they were being far too pessimistic before quickly being brought back to earth after the UConn sweep out of the holiday break.

I hear you about the optimism. I have to admit I was very optimistic going into the UCONN series last year. I believe the difference this year is 5 HE wins vs 2 at this point last year and 5 wins vs ranked teams vs 2 at this point last year. 5 wins in a row. Better goaltending to this point. 14 new players getting better and playing hard every shift. Even the energy in the building is different this year.

Ha, ha, Sparkee. Of course, most of the regulars here know that my post was in jest. At the beginning of the season, both Chuck and I predicted 20 wins for this season, which is certainly looking more possible now than before our trip to Orono. But, rather than George Costanza, we are more cognizant of Lucy’s football analogy in the Peanuts comic strip. 🙂
