UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

Home and home with UML. What do we expect? We took advantage early last year when UML was dealing with injuries only to get outplayed in the playoffs.

If we can tie tomorrow and win Saturday, I think that is a win of a weekend. A sweep is a big bonus especially in HE points.

Looking forward to the loudest band ever which is at Lowell and stuck in a parking garage.

Anyone else going?

Without a UNH sweep this weekend, my 20-win prediction may be out of reach for this season.

Other than the Whitt, I have attended more games at Tsongas than any other HEA rink, but not in the cards for this Friday night. Go Cats!

This one feels like a home and home split. Mostly on UML's behavior. UML scores like crazy at home and can't buy a goal on the road (against HE competition)... so I am going:

F: UML 5 - 1
S: UNH 3 - 1

Normally I would but saving up my strength lol to do the RPI / Union road trip! I'm predicting a split...we lose at UML and squeak out a W at home.
Looking at the 'tale of the tape' they've got us on goals forward and their PP is better (shocker). I think it will depend on preparation...will leave it at that. Its time for UNH to prove/show what they've got.
HR's knee replacement special predicts:
Fri: UML 3. UNH 1
Sat: UNH 2 UML 1

I'm going split too, but the other way around, they win a UML 3-1 and lose at home 5-3.

Hope your new knee is treating you better than the old one was, 'Ref! For predictions ... it's time for UNH to start making the donuts ...

FRIDAY: UNH 4 @ UML 2 (including ENG)
SATURDAY: @ UNH 3 UML 2 (OT)

For the SoG aficionados ... home team outshoots the road team in each game
For the FoW aficionados ... UNH prevails on the dot both evenings, led by Felix "Da Cat" Gagnon

lol at the moment almost a month out I'd trade this knee in for my old one ...they weren't kidding when they said it was going to be an arduous affair...seriously tho I'm 'coming along'...have to be patient. I love your enthusiasm for the weekend. Nothing would make HR happier than to sweep the River Birds, er Hawks. I've never forgiven them for the 2013 defeat at my first...and at the moment, ONLY Regional!

This prediction if it comes true could get us back on track for 20 wins.

I thought that the losing team always wins the FOW stat?

Because I know potty just loves it when I post about non-hockey stuff related to other tangentially-related UNH stuff going on elsewhere in God's Country ... and please note, I'm posting links from the NHPR website only to allow readers here to avoid paywall restrictions at the Union Leader and Seacoastonline.com:

The half-billion dollar plus megaproject at the current site of the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom received its final approvals on Wednesday night, and work on the three year project will begin in late 2026 with the demolition of the current 100+ year old building. The primary developer of the project is Sal Lupoli, the Merrimack Valley-based developer who got his start with the "Sal's Pizza" brand and chain originating in Salem NH. If you have access to the U-L, you'll note in the front page story this morning that Lupoli and his local partner Fred Schaake were joined at the final approval hearing this week by UNH alum Joe Faro, he of the Tuscan brand and developer of his own burgeoning Tuscan Village megaproject in Salem. And in other UNH alum/donor related news ....

Yes, our old friend and UNH alum Tony DiLorenzo a/k/a "TDL" on these boards, he of the major donation towards the pending Whittemore Center renovation project, continues to emerge as someone who is broadening his sphere of influence around our great State. In addition to his highly-publicized UNH donation, his purchase of the McIntyre parcel in the middle of downtown Portsmouth, and ongoing development of the Meadowbrook project on the edge of the traffic circle and Route 1 Bypass, TDL has confirmed he is running for the GOP nomination for next year's run for the open Congressional seat in CD-1.

And lastly ... Torrington Properties is also emerging as a development force in the area, and while the top end of their organization has a Connecticut flavor, their activities in recent years have been geared to two of the most dynamic coastal commercial development cities in New England - Boston and none other than Portsmouth NH and the Seacoast Region around it. Torrington got its developmental start in the area at and around UNH with its involvements in the "Campus Flats" project, and has since purchased the Mill Plaza, subsequently developing Portsmouth's West End Yards (not far from TDL's Meadowbrook project) among other large scale residential and commercial projects in the city, and will culminate in the $500M "Seaport Landing" megaproject at the soon-to-be-former site of the Fox Run Mall in Newington NH, where demolition for the project begins in early 2026.

Lots of exciting stuff going on developmentally in and around the Portsmouth-Pease-UNH economic axis, most of which can arguably be traced back to the early '90's and the emergence of the Pease Tradeport and Whittemore Center (as a spur for campus transformation), signaling the constant and abundant growth in the area, which shows no signs of slowing, and if anything seems to be accelerating. Welcome to Effingwoods - it's a great time to be a Wildcat (off the ice anyway)!!

I think you have PDS Chuck. On the other hand Potty might have CDS. Maybe both. Thank you for your attention to this matter😂

Horrible referee ls tonight. Losing the penalty matchup 4-0. Spurts of good hockey but a lot of the same terrible mistakes.

1-0 lead whet 13 left is not a good feeling.

Welp pulled that out thanks God to the pk and KC. Always a pleasure to win at the Tsongas. 22 blocked shots...5 penalties...at least one led to that shortie...3 points.
