UNH at Maine - Feb 5/6 (Flame on!!)

Re: UNH at Maine - Feb 5/6 (Flame on!!)

I don't know exactly what happened to Danlton, but I'm pretty sure that Burke's injury is related to the cheap shot he took from Merrimack College's Bigos, that led to Bigos' getting tossed from the game.

To the person who wondered why I was so upset with the hit, and the fact he didn't get a Game-DQ, now you know. If a UNH player hit somebody what sort of intent to injure, I'd be just as upset.

Maine fans: you'll be missing a talented, strong foward in Burke, who I have enjoyed watchign develop through the year. Speelman was a speedster, and had been working recently on a real fun line with Stevey Moses (until just recently) and Mike Borisneok (sp?), that was very quick. It will be interesting to see how the lines shift, but 1 and 2 will most likely be the same; 1: Thompson, Butler, DeSimone; 2: LeBlanc, Sislo, Moses;

I'm sorry but there will always be a difference between a self-reported and self-imposed mistake :( , and punishment, then . . . well, you know.

Coach Lassonde told me so in an e-mail

The Maine thing all started because of a self-reported mistake.

UHN fan stops in Portland for gas.
Asks the gas attendant, "What's the quickest way to Orono?"
Gas attendant: "Are ya walkin' or are ya drivin'?"
UHN: "Driving"
Attendant: "Well... that's the quickest way."
:p

Gibber, do you get WPME down there, they simulcast all of the WABI games for us southerners.

I will be in Eagle Lake, ME on Saturday night (if all goes as planned!). What station, if any, covers the game up there?

You'll be frozen so don't worry about it:D ? Ice fishing or snowmobiling? Find someone with cable or local channels on a dish and you might get WABI?

I think I used to when I lived up in Dover/Somersworth, but I moved down to the BIG city (Nashua) this past summer. I'll be working at the paper until 1030 anyway so, if I can swing it, I'll probably end up listening to Dan/Pete on the radio. I am still debating whether or not to go up for tomorrow's game and heading back in the morning.....if I can sucker someone into going up with me for one night I just may :)

If it's not, that would be one helluva coincidence. I know I had a better view of the hit than you, but it was pretty obvious he'd been injured and would be missing time. I said it in the UNH thread, and I'll say it here: Bigos is a *ing punk.

Re: UNH at Maine - Feb 5/6 (Flame on!!)

Bags are packed, hotel reserved, leaving for Orono in about 3 hours. Looking forward to a weekend of good hockey. :)

Re: UNH at Maine - Feb 5/6 (Flame on!!)

Gibber, if you go to CSTV, for ten bucks you can get both games online....... should be good enough, and then you have BC-UMass on NESN for the double header.....for you youngsters, I remember the good old days, when Maine was Division 2 and would pay to have UNH come up and play them so they could develop their program....back then NOBODY cared about the game of hockey let alone Bananas....UVM was the big rivalry, as one could tell from the hanging UNH hockey player dolls in the dorm windows, along with the ********UNH and UNH s***ks glazed on....I hope we can get the UNH/Maine rivalry back up there with both teams making the NCAA's interesting this year!
Go Wildcats!!

Where ya staying? We've got family in Burnham, staying there. Yearly tradition.

I'm hoping for terrible hockey, really boring games; if UNH jumps out to a 5-0 lead, I won't complain :D

Re: UNH at Maine - Feb 5/6 (Flame on!!)

What a great kid, we had him at the house and he was late for breakfast but apoloiged, followed by comsuming a meal big enough for Paul Bunyan. About 2-hours later we were going to have dinner and he ate more than Michaud, Cardinal and Kariya together.:D

Having kids over for a meal... isn't that an NCAA violation? Or was this after they were done playing? Serious question.

Re: UNH at Maine - Feb 5/6 (Flame on!!)

Still considering heading up for tonight, if I can sucker... I mean get someone to come along for the one game, and back tomorrow morning (in time for women's game at 2 then work in ManchVegas)

No, you can have them over for a meal with the proper paper work. They also were invited by a third party. It was for Thanksgiving and they were all kids from away. The schedule didn't allow them time enough to go home for the holiday. All we provided was the food, they had their own transportation etc. You could do the same.
