UNH 2025 Offseason: Where in the World is MS7?

Total rubbish. You have no idea who the kid really is or any idea what anyone thought of him. Leave him alone. You really are a classless jerk to post something like this. Oh, BTW, what time does your lecture at Northwestern, UMichigan or Stanford begin today? You told us about your impressive credentials this week. Hard to imagine someone as distinguished as you not having better things to do at 9 a.m. on a Friday than to psychoanalyze UNH hockey players on social media.
Give it a rest dude. He's forming an opinion based on what he observed. Nothing improper about that.

He observed nothing. It's just the tweety birds in his head. An anonymous social media post knocking the character of a college hockey player based on how he "appeared" at some type of UNH event is trash.

i find it particularly humorous that the knucklehead who posted such trash can't take it in return. The hallmark of any bully is that they're a coward.

I'd like to invite you to dinner. Up for it?

I don't want to put your mom out. Thank her anyways for offering to host me.
Figured you'd run away from a face to face conversation.
On the one hand it is odd someone with the handle Potluck would turn down an invitation for dinner. Was expecting him to tell you he was bringing a crock of meatballs.

On the other hand it is odd you want him to have a conversation with your mother.

😆

He never mentioned his mother. Maybe you should get some rest Sparkee. The first part was actually funny.

So Conmy's gone I'd say a big loss, he was their best offensive threat. The question now is how will Souza use the $$$ will he finally get a impactful player or will settle for 2 NAHL veterans?

For those who think Gildon was so good....

73 points in 3 years, -14. Left early and has not sniffed the big show.

You refer to the defenseman who led the entire program in points scored during his three-season tenure?

I have no doubt you preferred Anthony Wyse, who scored 26 points and was a -28 in four seasons? Or Benton Maass who scored 37 points and was -21 in his four seasons at UNH?

I'm sure - in a completely unrelated development - that Maass finishing a +20 in one single season at MSU-M had nothing to do with the team around him...

Two overated players (I know some will be bum hurt for saying this) who did not come as advertised. This team has a lot of problems, but based on roster construction needs to be a blue-collar team. You watch Conmy in Lowell in the quarters? Or at any other point. Gildon? How many pucks did he give way and shy away from a hit. We need higher end talent, but I will take blue-collar guys like Walsh every day in certain spots who will fight to play and win.

"Gentlemen, you don't have enough talent to win on talent alone"

This is 'let's skate MacDonald and Gaudreault ahead of Foegele' levels of asinine...

Maybe we'd get more star players at UNH if we stopped acting like toddlers every time they don't single-handedly save our program and validate our fandom.

That was a dismal period that just seemed to snowball and here we are today.

What an absolute boatload of tripe, but I'm not surprised. Good for the kids who are the true believers, but a dozen years in, and Luce still hasn't gotten a single trophy that matters. After all, that was one of his three goals in taking the job at Storrs ...

"When Cavanaugh arrived in Storrs in 2013, he set three goals for the program: Graduate players, create better men and win trophies. He often talks about how national championships should be the standard at UConn."

The standard has indeed been set at UConn. Here's a recap on how UConn fared in their 2025 quest for "trophies":

* 2nd place for something called the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off
* 4th place in the Hockey East regular season standings
* 2nd place in the Hockey East tournament after a UMaine beatdown
* 2nd place in the NCAA Allentown Regional (*ping* unlucky post!!)

Back in the old days, this was Coach Umile, except of course he would win a meaningless midseason tournament, AND he'd win the HEA Regular Season title, plus he won 2 HEA Tourneys after he'd been on the job for a dozen years. He'd also "win" two Regionals, and won two out of four National Semifinals in his first dozen-plus years in charge. And his "unlucky post shot" came in the '99 Finals vs. UMaine in Anaheim.

FWIW you could plug in "Bazin" for Umile above, and it would look pretty much the same (sans the arena building part) ...

Umile got brow-beaten incessantly on here for being the guy who "can't win the big one", but he was demonstrably better than Luce, across the board. Even considering facilities, Umile's success got The Whitt (capacity 6,500+) built in 5 years, while Luce got Baba Yaga's Ice Hut (2,600) built after a full decade.

In the meantime, Luce gets puff pieces not for winning anything, but just for coming kinda close, at a school that totally dominates another winter sport, where he himself is on record stating that "national championships should be the standard".

Anyway, this needed to be said. Just because. 🤮
Hockey East COY, New England Writers COY, and National COY finalist (not announced yet). Must be from all the puff pieces.....

Conmy was UNHs leading scorer freshman and sophomore year. But, yeah, he’s not a big loss for a program that rarely attracts highly skilled players. He doesn’t spend enough time battling in the corners. It’s incredible how dumb you are.
Great, he was our leading scorer. Unfortunately, he's likely a third-line guy at BC, BU, Denver, or Maine, for that matter. It exemplifies the lack of talent MS7 can attract.

Conmy is a very skilled player and certainly was an incredible asset to UNH, but he wasn't a transcendent one who was going to resurrect a moribund program.

Just for fun anyone wanna guess where RyCon goes? Seems like a BU kid to me..

Who knows. There are some BU predictions floating around social media. I'm not really narrowing it down, but here's my guess list:

BC, BU, UConn, Maine, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Arizona State, North Dakota, Western Michigan.

--

BU is about to get gutted with early departures. The fit is strong.

Michigan lost a few key scorers to the portal. Penn State loves high-skill players, will likely lose two 1st line forwards, and he'd join a younger group on a serious come up. ASU cut several underperforming players to free up space/money. NoDak is starting over and lost its two top young producers. WMU will lose Alex Bump.
