Thankfully, USCHO archives previous threads and posts, so folks can't go making things up about what folks have posted in the past, @$$clown.
Let's start with the "sliding scale" that JB was so kind to recall, without having to comb through the USCHO archives ...
Agreed - no reason to expect anything but. No more excuses. For me, my vote on Coach Souza is very simple. Win the next two, and you get my support for a two-year extension. Win the next four (HEA title) and you get four years. Qualify for NCAA's without a HEA title, three years. Lose tomorrow or Saturday? Thank you for your services, bye ...
No more three year plans ... no more scoreboards, no more shrink-the-rink, no more sugar daddy TDL promising to re-do the facilities, upgrade the locker rooms, ice cream dispensers for the refs and coaches, etc.
I'll back up a bit, in fairness to spanky (who deserves none BTW) and share the extent of my "giddiness" over the sweep at The Whitt ... 'cuz references to a "mirage" and "ghosts of UNH Past" scream unrestrained giddiness and gloating

:
Start the overrated cheer now
You bet. UMaine took a pounding this weekend, and UNH is arguably arisen from the (Lawlor) dead. Bring on UMass.
I'll say this much ... it's a likeable, hard-working group of players who seem to genuinely like each other, and play for each other, which does make a difference. It would be a shame to see this group come up short of Boston, they showed a lot of brass when some of us (moi for sure) counted them out. I'm not sure why some folks seem to be resigned that they can't match up with UMass, when UMaine is a better team, and UNH just swept...
Nothing says "I'm all in on Coach Souza regardless" than "
What would really torque me would be an MS7 extension after a UMaine win":
Hmmm... I watched it live from my normal spot up high in the corner. I didn't get the benefit of replays etc. you got on NESN.
Wondering if those of us in attendance have that different impression because we were in building. I will note that over on the Maine thread more than one of them hopes they see last nights UNH team not the mid February one they got the last time. Their impressions seem more aligned with mine.
I don't think there's any question that being in the building is usually an advantage, JB. Having said that, from my viewing, I just didn't see many so-called Grade...
Next is the pseudo pep-talk (Theme - Opportunity for a UNH Re-Set) to MS7 & Co. that has spanky's thong all in a bunch lately ...
There is no team - NO TEAM - I'd rather see UNH facing, and no venue I would rather see them playing in than at Alfond Arena in mid-March. I mean ... you're a 6th place HEA team playing for a trip to Boston, and a shot at qualifying for the NCAA's. Who did anyone think we were gonna be facing with those circumstances in place?? UNH already got the rub o' the green with three straight games against UML to finish the regular season, and two of those games were home games. Was it gonna be Merrimack or UVM at The Whitt with Boston on the line??? At some point, if you're a mid-table team...
This one is me pleading with our esteemed AD f/k/a SB to give MS7 a lifetime contract after getting trounced 5-0 by UMaine.
SO reminiscent of the 2002 semis in St. Paul ... a misleadingly close first period, followed by a complete implosion spread over the last 2 periods, and does MS7 do anything to try to settle his team down, and get them back on track after the second (or third) UMaine goal??? Nope, just like his predecessor, the strategic in-game genius saved that timeout, just like Coach Umile always did. Not like it mattered though. 5-0 is pretty much 7-2.
As I just wrote on the UMaine thread ... from the folks who wrote the book on postseason gacks, a fresh new chapter.
Despite some folks running...
Another post, where I'm clearly championing the greatness and undeniability of MS7 (see 3rd and 4th paragraphs; nothing says "Luv ya, Mikey!!" like stuff saying "IF he gets extended" and "frankly is not deserved". But wait ... there's more!!
So it begins in what I call No Man's Land. This was my fear going into the season. If it was another below standard season, it was an easy see ya later Souza. If he made the tournament, then you can't make a change yet. Instead we get close to making it with a good season. Is it just a fluke good year or is he building to get back to the standard? Did it just take longer than we all hoped? Do you make a change and experience misery longer if it starts like Souza? Do we stick it out and it was only a 1 year fluke? Of course it could go the other way on each choice. Could get a new guy...
Here's one of me posting in hopes that our esteemed AD f/k/a SB might still have someone else on her radar, before she dropped the bomb ...
Or read another way......she's already got a replacement lined up. Gonna be an interesting couple of weeks.......
I like the way you're thinking, Scott. My heart is with your analysis ... my head is with e.cat's sobering take.
Now that I've seen her tweet on X ... I will only say it's interesting she did not mention Coach in her tweet. Considering he is apparently a HEA COTY candidate (as 'Ref points out), I find it a little odd he's not incorporated into her otherwise upbeat post. Maybe she's leaving the door ajar for (1) an overqualified candidate becoming available in D-1...
This one is of me being elated at MS7's 3 year extension ... you can feel the love with the tag of "Mediocrity Day" ...
Read the email from the U the last big paragraph spells out the reason she had to be thinking about most...the renovations and getting that project funded.
I'm honestly struggling with that one, 'Ref. TDL surfaced with his proposed funding/gifting of the renovation project(s) months ago. If MS7 was non-renewed, are we to believe that TDL/Key Auto Group would have withdrawn the funding, despite all of the positive PR he and his organization have reaped from the video pimping of the project any time UNH Hockey has been on TV the last 3 months?? I mean, talk about heavy-handed...
Read it all and choke on it, spanky. Loser, liar AND fraud. Don't forget I offered you a couple of chances to graciously back down. I'll restrict my future UMaine discussions to honest rivals like acs64, wally, Drew, groovy, the Walshy family, etc. unless you're man enough to apologize, here and now. Your call.
If you man up and apologize, we're good.

If not, feel free to go sit in the corner with pu$$bag Potty as my two latest beatdown victims
