UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

The boys seem to be skating better this year. Maybe their experience is just helping them know where to be.

That, and they're scoring shg's at a pace that will give them about 30 by the end of the year.

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Woohoo! That was not a tire fire!

What a decent, respectable performance!

Randomish tidbit - one of my favorite defensive plays was when Dougherty reached his stick across the UW crease during a big scramble to knock the puck away from, well, everyone else who appeared to have a better shot at it. That very well could have saved a goal, and it was pretty neat. Rumpel played quite well, and even McIntyre had to make a few flashy saves.

It stinks that it's yet another loss for this winless team, but it was great to be back at the Kohl Center for hockey.

Objectively, it was an exciting game, and I'm excited for a packed house tomorrow. Hopefully the "HEY!" guy gets on the screen - that's probably why the Badgers couldn't come all the way back. :(

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Well, live it up tonight Nodaks. Your boys aren't even going to be able to lift their arms in the morning after all the shots we made them take tonight.

Yep. It's our new rope-a-dope backchecking system.

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Oh, and how could I forget? The Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team scored a power play goal. Also, that Soleway goal was lovely.

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

I thought it was pretty interesting how, during the first period, the UND defense seemed completely amazing at blocking passes and shots from one knee. Overall possession seemed fairly even in the early goings (slight edge to UND), but where the teams were getting there shots was way different.

Dirty play. But, it's expected from the NoDak goons. Looked like Mr. Tom Sterns had a few too many cupcakes beforehand, couldn't raise his arm.

Guy shouldn't have been laying on the puck and The Chyz wouldn't have had to repeatedly elbow him. When will people start taking responsibility for their own actions instead of blaming others for everything?

Hard to get up when there's a guy repeatedly jumping on you like a trampoline.

Have you ever used a trampoline? They are impossible to stop bouncing on. Isn't it convenient how the video is cut off just after the ref obviously pushes Chyzyk? Masterful Badger editing bias there, but I'm not falling for it. No sir. Since the Badger, by your own admission, is a trampoline Bryn can't stop bouncing on him. When he finally does regain himself and is able to stop bouncing on Mr. Funhouse, he looks up at the ref and is like why'd you push me, bro? It's the only logical explanation.

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Wisconsin is 0-5 for first time since 1932-33, when it opened with losses to Milwaukee Rowing Club, Michigan School of Mines and Minnesota.

Can someone at the game tonight ask Old Man Phil what it felt like losing to a Rowing team? Did they use their oars as sticks?

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

I think Phil was celebrating his 30th birthday that night so he missed the game.
