UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Averaging half a goal/game less than Alabama-Huntsville is quite impressive. I tip my cap to thee, Wisconsin. Given the Crease Creatures shirts this year does anyone know if Eaves has given any thought to having the student section play in hopes of upping that impressive goal total?

I'll bring my equipment, just in case. I'll also eat plenty of bratwursts before the game, so I can utilize PK Subban's strategy.

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

It is a bit cold-hearted of you, isn't it Wisko, to rile up the Tundrabilly horde on its way to Madison while you sit safely sipping (gulping?) your margarita in Florida?

Oh, sorry burd. I couldn't hear you over the sound of frolicking dolphins and the sea breeze through the palms...

While I can't be there personally, (I don't believe the SOL has run out yet.) rest assured there will be several members of the McBadgerton clan on hand. No doubt it's nice here, sitting as I am, overlooking the pool, gently fanned by several bikini-clad temptresses, but yet I still long for many of the sights and sounds of home. Oh, what I wouldn't give at this moment to again look upon a knuckle-dragger in green wrestling on the ground with a Dane County Sheriff. :(

Well it is already Wednesday, so let's take a walk down memory lane.....

Speaking of injuries, Sue better hope freshman Tim "Sniper" Davison is still out with a concussion this weekend. So far his "One Shot-One Goal" proficiency has him as a co-leader in the Badger goal scoring machine!

Was his goal in that tie against DII St Norbert?

He didn't play as he's been out with a concussion. Had he (and had it counted) I'm suspect he would have taken over the Badger scoring lead with his second SOG of the year.

No doubt we've had scoring woes, which is why we so appreciative of you Nodaks coming to town to help us out in that regard. It's not that Sue is easy, but she really hasn't minded lifting her skirt in Madison much over the years.

But enough about our scoring, my question is what are you guys going to do for points without fat MacMillian in there to bounce flutter pucks off of?

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Anyone know of any new features they'll have in store at the Kohl this year? The addition of the new lights last year was pretty awesome

Well sounds like they didn't need to replace the goal light.

As you can see in my original post on this thread, the Sioux will probably have to allow the Badgers a pity goal, at least on Friday. Our boys like to play before large crowds, and they know about the attendance woes the Badgers are experiencing and that there may be a very small turnout on Saturday if the Badgers are not allowed to score a goal Friday night.

Of course, the Sioux can only do so much. Someone wearing red has to be able to shoot the puck into the net, and that does not appear to be something anyone can take for granted.

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Is this a prediction of a scoreless tie?

UND has shown it can struggle to score. As strong as these programs have been and as fun as this rivalry has been, I just hope we get a couple of good games, preferably with some scoring excitement. My own experience with Nodak at the Kohl Center has been that the Badgers will score in bunches against the Sioux and often come back to beat them. I'd be happy with a split and two exciting games and a lot of crowd noise. I hope the Badger student section picks out a Tundrabilly who flips them off then laughs about it. Two OTs with reverse Hukalo (I'll take Cagguila) winners would be the sweetest. No sleepers, please.

I would love to see a "couple of good games," considering the way these teams' seasons have gone so far.

The Whioux should be ready to be "trapped" to death, Eaves will probably camp 5 guys out in the neutral zone and go with his famous 0-0-5 forecheck. Lots of napping in the crowd.

Oh that's what it was- 'napping'. Looked more like hibernation in our last match-up. Although to be fair, it was February and the ground squirrels are notoriously afraid of Bucky's shadow late in the season.

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

This thread started out so well but then it failed to really ever devolve properly.

Re: UND @ UW Nov 7 & 8: The Battle of the Bottle

Yeah, but game threads haven't been very active this year. Live game threads on game nights have been had to find too. With the past we have to draw on and two good fan bases, I had hopes when I started it, but . . .

The important thing is you tried, burd.

Which is probably exactly the kind of statement Hak will have to fall back on come Sunday.

Save that participation award horse crap for SCSU and its fans. The wagons should be rolling into Middleton about now, and you hole-dwellers are about to get a lesson on how men play hockey.

This is a Wisconsin/UND thread. Leave us like-minded institutions out of it.
