UND @ UAA: Two teams that desperately need points to move up the WCHA ladder.

Re: UND @ UAA: Two teams that desperately need points to move up the WCHA ladder.

You're not right.

You always play the same number of conference games. It doesn't give extra conference games. It gives a team an extra non-conference series. Which they may or may not schedule at home, of course.

Yep, you're right. So playing a non-conference game against an Alaskan team would serve no benefit in terms of extra games then, right?

Well, not the same, but still a benefit. They get the same number of chances for non-con home games, but two extra games to tune up/get rolling/get more PWR comparisons. That's why teams like UND will go to UAA's tournament in years where you do not go to Alaska in conference play.

Let's say the Gophers only play UAA at tMooch. Then their non-con schedule would be like
vs. AIC
vs. AIC
vs. Sacred Heart
vs. Sacred Heart
vs. UConn
vs. UConn

vs. AIC
vs. AIC
vs. Sacred Heart
vs. Sacred Heart
vs. UConn
vs. UConn
vs. Bentley
vs. Bentley

Then if they play UAA or UA_ in a non-conference scenario, UMTC's schedule would be like
@ Alaska tournament
@ Alaska tournament
vs. AIC
vs. AIC
vs. Sacred Heart
vs. Sacred Heart
vs. UConn
vs. UConn

You would still get the Alaska exemption...

Re: UND @ UAA: Two teams that desperately need points to move up the WCHA ladder.

Speaking of quitting, it would have been nice if your goaltender would have started playing so he could be called a quitter. What is Dave Shylok going to say that anyone except the alumni dolts want to hear? UND could lose every moniker for the next decade and they would have a better program than UAA. You are the sisters of the poor, expendable, and besides the occasional entertainment you provide by beating UND's foes no one has or will have any heartfelt remorse for not scheduling your dumpster fire of a program. This is pointedly directed at Dummy Dumlop since he won't post any "foul language" on his blog unless it's his own.

So what had higher attendance? The luncheon or the game? No counting the players in the attendance for the game.

So you don't know. Here I thought you could count to 10. My mistake.

Re: UND @ UAA: Two teams that desperately need points to move up the WCHA ladder.

Actual game scores have sharply reduced the whining and boasting about lack of parity between conferences and silenced the blather about a "super conference." How sweet it is.

Now that UND has admitted that the Fighting Sioux logo is offensive will "old apparel" be banned under the Arena Code of Conduct at the Ralph?
Rule #5 Offensive or obscene messages on signs or clothing will not be permitted.

Re: UND @ UAA: Two teams that desperately need points to move up the WCHA ladder.

Perhaps if that happened UAA would finally have more fans attend their games than UND does.

It could even be something as simple as the fact that fans have something else to talk about now that the games are being played. It would take a pretty sharp mind to catch that, though.

Unfortunately, the results of the games are giving credence to much of the "blather." In the WCHA, three of the four teams left behind occupy the bottom three spots in the standings. 6 of the top 8 spots are occupied by teams going to the new super conference. The top spot is occupied by a team going to the BTHC.

Your own position in the content standings has not changed, it appears.

Probably be even fewer fans tonight. Last night the roads were slick, but today it is freezing rain. I left our car outside because we have a contractor here using our garage, and when I went out to pull it into the garage there was a good 1/8" of ice on it. Yuck. Hey, at least we had more fans than Mankato last weekend! ;)

Yes, because the REA is totally going to make 11,000 plus people take off their jerseys as they enter the arena....

Give me a ****ing break.

Speaking of apparel, how did UAA get all their fans to dress up as yellow seats?

With our weather it is a miracle anyone was there. Nine cars in the ditch on the way to the game, and a police car badly re-ended. We stopped by the gas station on the way home (at a busy grocery store) and the place was deserted and the parking lot was a sheet of ice. High winds are horrific. Time to curl up in front of the fire.

Good to see you made it home okay. That was an awful drive home.

What happened Friday? Or any other UAA game I have seen on TV?

This past weekend of 12/3-12/4 teams from the soon-to-be "super league" had but a 57% winning record against teams from the remaining non-super leagues-to-be.

This past weekend of 12/3 - 12/4 teams from the reputed "super league" had but a 57% winning record against the reputed dregs of college hockey - the soon-to-be non-super league teams. This would not fit the definition of "super" for many hockey fans. Game scores trump predictions and promises. Scores this week indicate a parity league rather than a super league has been formed. Next week's scores? We will see.

Apparently your position and mine in your imaginary content standings are entirely the products of your fantasies.

No they didn't, at least if you're referring to the NCHC as the "super league".
