UND to open the BREC FIGHTING SIOUX STYLE 10-15/10-16

Re: UND to open the BREC FIGHTING SIOUX STYLE 10-15/10-16

So I went over to Craiglist to look at what people were wanting for tickets. I saw some for $350 a seat! One could buy a season ticket for $275 in the family section and go to these games and sell the rest.

I hope that person gets stuck with their tickets.......

I didn't see any tickets over on StubHub for this series, which is supposidly the "official" broker for resale of BREC Tickets.

Sounds like it was a great game for all 4 fans in attendance.:o

http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20020...e=uaa&gender=m They were up by 2 goals with 15 minutes left and choked it away in this one, they were even up by a goal with less than 5 seconds left and couldn't hold on...

Minnesota 3, Alaska-Anchorage 3
WCHA Game
Friday, January 18, 2002 at Sullivan Arena (Attendance: 4)

No shortage of tickets in that game!

Why was Aaron Marvin driving behind the UND bus today?

I noticed these games are not on the FSSN schedule. I assume they will be televised in Grand Forks, so if anyone could direct me to a channel that would be appreciated.

Games will be on Midco Channel 597 in Grand Forks/Devils Lake ... not sure about other areas.

I’m hoping for the Beavers first victory over the Fighting Sioux since BSU made the move to DI hockey in the 1999-2000 season. Since moving to DI, BSU is 0-14-1 versus UND. Despite UND’s dominance in the series, 8 of the last 11 contests have resulted in a Sioux margin of victory of a goal, which includes UND’s last three trips to Bemidji. I would like to note that because these games were non-conference in the past; neither team would put their best roster on the ice. Non-conference games are for giving backup goalies and players that don’t dress often some ice time. That being said, I would argue that the games meant more to the Beavers when playing WCHA teams. They would get more fired up competing against an elite College hockey team. In the past, any chance to gain respect in the college hockey was huge for the program.

I would love to see a BSU sweep, would be very happy with a split and if I was betting in Vegas, the numbers would say take UND in a sweep.

I’m just taking a stab at the top three lines for BSU this weekend, let me know what you think…

Top Line
Lowe (Lead teams with 21 goals last year)
Reed (Lead team with 41 points last year)
George (34 points in the most by a rookie since BSU moved to DI)

Second Line
Illo (freshman, played for Slovakia in WJHC last year)
Fisher (Junior, sat out last year, played for Gophers for two years prior)
Jubinville (freshman, heard he looked good last weekend in Green\White game)

Third Line
Kinne (junior, 24 pts last season)
Cramer (Senior, 21 pts last season)
MacQueen (Junior, 17 pts last season)

Does anyone know the status of Kinne, will he be in the lineup this weekend?

Ben Kinne is still out as doctors have only cleared him to practice. Lakeland News last night had a little clip on him and it is up on their website.

Maybe he takes a medical redshirt this year? That would allow him to have two more years.

I read in the bemidji pioneer the other day that he was listed in one of the lines for fridays game, so i would take that as he is playing, which would be big for the beavers.

The day i have waited for for years is finally a reality!!

I would also like to thank north dakota for playing us all these years when we were in the CHA and supporting us in coming into the WCHA, there is no other team that deserves to open up our rink for all that you guys have done for us....with that being said lets go beavers!!!

So we have conflicting information. I guess we will see when the team hits the ice tonight!

GO BEAVERS!!!

Congrats to BSU on the new arena. I hope you have years of success in it, just not against the Sioux! :D

My thoughts exactly on this one. The way things get tight at the end of the season, PairWise comparisons get pretty important. Unless you were pretty confident you were going to earn an auto-bid via conference championship, you can not afford to take such approach in D1 college hockey. Those days are done for BSU.
