I posted a screenshot of an adult gopher fan last year and everybody got all butt hurt but now we have a child's photo posted and he is called names and nobody says a word.

I never said I didn't like the Red Pepper. Biddy isn't too bright. I think RP is overrated. I also think Val's blows the RP out of the water. That doesn't mean it's bad.

I probably agree that RP is overrated if you are talking only about the food. If you have no reason to connect with the tradition, then it is a very good but not great grinder shop. But for those of us who have walked in that joint (Univ Ave store) in four separate decades, it is a treasure. It's like Frenchy's would have been had it survived.

Red Pepper is great if you're bombed but Val's can be enjoyed in any state of being. I would go with Val's over RP and maybe that makes me a traitor but my palate hasn't been tainted by pasty in Michigan.
