Yes the Sioux do seem to step it up a notch when they wear their black jersies.
But that will be nothing compared the beat down that will occur once the Sioux see SCSU in black.

No fear. I have a good source of cookies. For the UND series I usually take a baker's dozen over to the Skeeterman. Well...you can imagine he does what he does, and then I sell them to Sloe Gin for a healthy profit. He likes them pre-saturated for some strange reason. Don't ask me, I just broker the deal.

According to Brad from today's chat, the UND coaching staff has to agree to let the Huskies wear the black.
Schlossman: I believe that St. Cloud would have to have UND's permission to do it. I've heard the WCHA doesn't want two teams wearing dark colors anymore.

Wouldn't it be up to the home team to decide which color jersey to wear? I don't know, thats why I'm asking.

I think it would be funny if Hak refused to let SCSU wear their blacks (assuming Brad is correct), then just wore the greens both games this weekend. :p

Here's what I was able to find in the rule book.

Rule 2, Section 1-b:
The visiting team shall wear dark-colored jerseys and stockings; the home team shall wear light-colored jerseys and stockings.

Light-colored jerseys (e.g., white, gold, yellow, or light blue) may be worn during the regular season by the visiting team only when the teams have agreed before the game. If the teams are unable to agree, the visiting team will wear dark-colored jerseys.

In 2002, after Ralph Engelstad died, UND asked SCSU to wear their white jerseys one night so that the Sioux could wear their black jerseys in Ralph's memory. If SCSU had said "no", the Sioux wouldn't have been able to wear them.

Yes that would be funny and one could argue that SCSU is not a worthy opponent and does not deserve to see the Sioux in black. However, its been 10 years since the Sioux have won a Friday night game in St. Cloud. I think the Sioux should wear black Friday night.
