So that's not checking from behind simply because it was a crosscheck to the lower back or what? This is one of the reasons' CFB is still so prevalent.

There is a grey area in the rule and it is very subjective. The rules in general give you an out for the more sevre penalty. The only way it will get clearer is to have more define wording in the rule. Take away all the options and things will get called correctly more often.

I don't think so, I believe Ken left before Dave played at DU. Doug left right before Ken came.

Edit: per Old Pio's info it looks like Ken and Dave may have played one year together
