The only fiasco was your team's undisciplined play. Your team can be very good if they stay out of the box. Even Hakstol admitted the same.

Hakstol was on TV before Friday night's game saying that the Sioux have sometimes been their own worst enemy this season. And then they went out and proved it by taking two major penalties. They managed to win in spite of that. In his post-game comments, Hakstol clearly was not happy about the penalties.

I hope that by now UND's players realize that they are a much better team when they focus on playing their game. With the personnel they have, they should be playing a man up far more often than they're playing a man down.

Eaves didn't let smith play another minute of the game after that...if that tells you what kind of a coach he is, he doesn't tolerate bs, and that was a childish act by C. Smith borne out of frustration cause he either didn't get a shot or just from the weekend as a whole

I'm interested in this theory. Is diving BS? I seem to remember him tolerating that just fine.

In all honesty I don't think what he did can be explained with just frustration. I would question mental stability. I think it would be in his best interest to get evaluated for the safety of himself and others around him.

I recall one play where a Badger had the puck and a NoDak player literally speared him right in front of the ref and there was no call).

The UW player should have embellished more, then the ref might have called it.

Its pretty pathetic for any NoDak fan to whine about goonish hits. Your team wrote the book on goonery.

Um, I wasn't whining about the hit, I was "refreshing his memory" after his comment that UW hadn't taken out any players this season.
Hockey is a contact sport, any hit could take out a player.
Especially if that hit is from a UND player, since every hit is pure goonery with Sioux players evidently.

You seem to be forgetting the cheap hack that Craig Smith put on DU forward Zucker earlier this year (Fri night DU/UW game). He first tripped Zucker into the boards, and then when Zucker was attempting to get up, Smith just clocked him with his gloves/stick right across the face (well after the whistle, of course). I'm sure you can go back to the Score Thread for that game and see the reactions to that hit if you don't remember it. That hit could have easily knocked Zucker out for a game, and there would have gone your proclamation that UW doesn't knock people out.

I really hope for your sake that UW doesn't knock someone out this season, either with a good check that just hits the player wrong, or a cheap hit.

I didn't catch the DU series on tv so it would be hard for me to discuss whatever it was Smith did. but if you follow UW even casually you will have seen me call out C. Smith for dumb penalties

you will also have seen that I've called out Sean Hill as being an outright dirty player. but that's 15-20 years apart and 2 coaches.

what nodak has w/hakstol is a consistent blurring of the lines between legal and illegal hits and I just don't like what I see from them. they see a guy with his head down and it's the red cape suddenly and they go and try and destroy the person.

like I said it comes around and I don't want any sioux posters crying about it when it happens

yeah yeah, Robbie Earl. I never saw it that way. if he dove and got penalized fine. good call, but I never saw him diving nearly as often as others claim

as for Smith, he's undisciplined. I'm sure he'll be taken to the woodshed for that in practice this week. as it is he never got back into the game saturday night so you know Eaves was ****ed

give smith a break, he was tired of losing and frustrated. Playing hard and losing is very frustrating especially at home against a rival.

Calling UND tGoons is laughable and reeks of desperation.

Friday was a great game and could have gone either way but that's just how the puck bounces some nights.

Wisconsin smells like hot dog water .

that's pretty much it but I'd say nodak doesn't try to murder everyone, just EVERYONE WITH THEIR HEADS DOWN OR IN COMPROMISING POSITIONS

As for the first part of the bolded, I haven't seen any Wisconsin fan NOT admit that. As for the second part, that is yet to be determined. Sioux fans should know better than any that how you're playing in November isn't always a good indication of how things will go in March.

We'll be fine and hopefully learn from this. Most of our team is underclassmen and if they stay, these results will be flipped in two years.

Congrats on your EPIC weekend. I'm sure you'll be telling you and your sister's children about this in years to come.

You should admit that you're a d-o-u-c-h-e-b-a-g who sucks at life.

considering how the season has gone, epic doesn't begin to describe this weekend. But hey, thanks! And if the Sioux are playing well in the 1st half of the season...god help anyone in their way come later, when they typically go on their 2nd half surge.
