Man if this isn't a case of the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is!

It definitely was not a clean hit, but I have seen way worse. Sometimes bad injuries result from what appears to be smaller collisions i. e. Dale Earnhardt. When he went into the wall it did not look that serious, and then there are some absolutely crazy wrecks and the drivers walk away.

The point is Marvin's intent was not to injure, we don't play that way. It sucks that it happens, and I know he feels bad about it, but what's done is done. It's time to move on.

I hope he has a complete recovery soon.

Our players have never put a kid out for the rest of a season with a cheap hit. So no, they haven't been "every bit as cheap" as that hit over the years.

The fact that you're using the "But, you have cheap players too!!!!" argument is quite pathetic. And we didn't even bring up the hit in this thread...that was done by the thread starter tommyboy.

On behalf of all St. Cloud State University hockey fans, allow me to share with the North Dakota Fighting Siuox fans how much we respect, admire, and look up to your proud program. When you arrive I can assure all Fighting Sioux fans and their proud program that we will do everything in our power to be kind and gracious hosts. To make up for the unkind and unseemingly obtuse hit prepetrated by one Aaron Marvin on Mr. Genoway, we will allow your team to have the final line change, we will also not cheer when our team scores (thats if we score), and if we do check any of the Fighting Sioux into the boards we will boo that player vociferously and not allow that player to return to the ice until he apologises.
After the game, we will invite the Fighting Sioux to a big pizza party, complete with Mighty Duck dvds. We just want our North Dakota bretheren to heal and to know that we'll do everything to make amends for the hit by Mr. Marvin on Mr. Genoway.

Let's try this again, his INTENT was not to put Chay out for the season. It's not like the end result is what determines the level of "cheapness." That said, it was a horrible play on Marvin's part and he acknowledged that and sat the following night. Does that make it any better for Chay or UND fans, of course not, but at this point we can all just hope Chay makes a full recovery and then hopefully he can play hockey again for the Sioux.

So what was his intent? He skated the length of the ice, went around a SCSU player, hit him in the head with an elbow. That seems to determine the level of cheapness.

This series is too meaningful to both teams point-wise for any extracurricular activities. UND has to win to stay in contention to have home ice for the first round of the playoffs and St. Cloud is obivously looking down the barrel of another participation banner hanging season so neither will be trying to jeopardize those situations.
