UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

That's possible, but I can't see all (potentially) 6 or so incoming recruits not getting anything.

Especially with how many seniors are graduating.

Agree, someone should be getting something. Seven seniors on the squad (4F,2D,1G)

At the moment I assume the following (4F,2D) will be coming in next season:

Collins
Edwardh
Louria
Mueller
Scammon
Smith

Transfers Kevin Boyle (G) and Robert Francis (F) will also be eligible.

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

where are all the people that are supposed to be at this game? I hope in the beer line (that's where I would be) because it looks half full on TV ................

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Ok, posts 103-107...you're posting on the wrong thread. This is the recruiting thread. Move along to the season thread.

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Recruit Guillaume Leclerc has been traded from the Austin Bruins (NAHL) to the Edina Lakers of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (MJHL).Guillaume was tied for 14th in the NAHL in scoring with 22 points (12-10-22) in 23 games.

uhm... that seems like a step down, no?

I'll admit it, I haven't ever heard of the MJHL. Well, I have, but that's the Manitoba league, and that's not the one you're referring to. Definitely a step down in terms of talent.

It's not. It's the Minnesota league. Even further down.

One possibility... His twitter seems to indicate he is back in France presumably for world juniors.

Any possibility this is a roster move or trick?

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

Roster move/trick/work-a-round on Guillaume Leclerc. He still plays for Austin, but is back in France for the World Juniors U20. He will be back states side on December 16.

Re: UML Recruiting Thread, 2014 and beyond

It is only on "paper." He is skating in France for the U20 team and will return to the Austin Bruins in December. My story.

Thanks for the story Justin.

Have you looked into the transaction involving Leclerc? Did the Austin Bruins move him off their roster temporarily in order to add someone else while he plays on a world junior team?

His stat lines seemed to be "dropping"... lets see what some home cooking plus the existential national hatred of the british will do.

Not that I expect him to be cut, but France hasn't announced their final roster for the WJC yet. According to the IIHF, they still have 35 skaters and 6 goalies listed on the roster (http://stats.iihf.com/Hydra/361/IHM361000_32E_1_0_FRA.pdf). That should be cut in half by the end of the week.
