UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Not sure how the CCHL All Star team that plays against Lowell will be figured out, but I missed that Owen Cole was named back in November to the CCHL All-Star game.

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Speaking of Cole, I assume he's injured as he hasn't played since 11/16/19. He's missed the last 7 games.

That's unfortunate and might explain why he didn't make the Canada East WJAC roster.

Speaking of the WJAC, the tournament began last Saturday and USA is undefeated through 2 games. Ben Meehan has yet to register a point. The USA plays Canada East this evening at 9pm ET.

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Jackson Sterrett has 11 points (7-4-11) in the last 9 games.

Jackson was named NAHL East Division star of the week.

A writeup of his weekend of games is here.

“What a weekend he had,” Maryland general manager and coach Clint Mylymok said of Sterrett. “He was all over the puck, he’s a player-and-a-half. He’s a big player for us, one of our leaders. It’s nice to see him rewarded because he works hard in every practice and game.”

No Owen, but as previously discussed, he may be injured.

Almost all of those players are already 20 ... it's like they planned for Lowell's recruiting. ;)

I know right? I know we've got some former CCHL guys on the team now, but this league is mostly D3 level players isn't it? Do you think this game will even be competitive?

It's their superbowl and we will likely play guys who haven't seen the ice.

It could be a laugher... but I expect a fight.

Here's a list of the leagues commitments.
https://www.thecchl.ca/ncaa-commitments

I took a quick look at their roster and it looks like only 3 players are committed to NCAA DI teams, 2 committed to Canadian Universities and the rest are uncommitted. I noticed one player (Larabie) has major junior (OHL) experience.

ELLIOTT MCDERMOTT - Colgate
LUKE GRAINGER - Western Michigan
RYLAND MOSLEY - Alabama Huntsville

Grainger leads the league in scoring (30 GP 23-28-51), Mosley is second (34 GP 18-31-49) and McDermott is eleventh (40 GP 13-26-39).

I'm not sure what to expect. I just hope no one gets hurt.

There's not a lot of guys "who haven't seen the ice". In fact, only 5 players currently on the Lowell roster (6 if you count Eric Green) have appeared in less than 50% of the games this season:
Stefanson - 0 (injury)
Osik - 1
Neaton - 1
List - 5
Wells - 5

2 more are at exactly 50%
Schulting - 9
McDonald - 9 (injury)
