UML Recruiting, 2017+

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

The season is over for Croix Evingson and Eriks Zohovs as Shreveport was eliminated from the NAHL playoffs tonight. I believe both will be in Lowell next season.

Croix Evingson
Final 2016-2017 Stats:
59 GP - 12-40-52 - 125 PIM
3 GP - 1-0-1 - 0 PIM (Playoffs)

Eriks Zohovs
Final 2016-2017 Stats:
32 GP - 15-24-39 - 12 PIM
3 GP - 0-0-0 - 2 PIM (Playoffs)

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

Some UML recruits were named to NAHL awards today:
http://nahl.com/news/story.cfm?id=21019

Reid Stefanson
- All-Central Division Team

Croix Evingson
- All-South Division Team
- South Division Defenseman of the Year

Cole Paskus
- Midwest Division Leadership Award
- Midwest Division Community Service Award

Also, I found it interesting that each of these players respective teams were chosen as the organization of the year for each of their divisions.

Reid Stefanson's season ended this past weekend. He finished the regular season with a 21-32-53 +19 in 54 GP and 0-0-0 -1 in 4 GP in the playoffs.

I believe Cole Paskus is the only UML commit whose season is still ongoing. He had the GWG this past Friday to send the Janesville Jets into the next round at the expene of Cale List and the Coulee Region Chill.

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

Clark Kerner becomes the first UML commit (not that there are many eligible) to be drafted in this year's USHL draft. He was picked at the end of the 12th Round by Sioux City. At least 3 UMass kids have been picked already.

Monty,
Madison took Cale List (Rd 6, 90) and Sioux Falls took Reid Stefanson (Rd 7, 105). It will be interesting to see who will be in Lowell next season.

Jackson Sterrett goes to Green Bay (Rd 20, 315)

Charles Levesque was also taken by Green Bay (Rd 14, 219)

Ah, thanks. I missed the first two, and I had actually looked for Reid's name.

Weird to see List's name since he'd been in the USHL before.

Recruit Cole Paskus and Janesville defeated Fairbanks to advanced to the NAHL Robertson Cup Championship. The Jets will join three other divisional champions in Duluth (May 11-14) for the championship.

NAHL Robertson Cup Finals
The four divisional playoff champions will advance to the Robertson Cup Championship in Duluth, Minnesota. Clubs will be seeded 1-4 based upon their finish in the NAHL regular-season standings. The game schedule will be as follows: The #1 Seed will face the #4 seed in a best of three series. The #2 seed will face the #3 seed in a best of three series. The two series winners will advance on to a one game playoff to determine the Robertson Cup Champion.

Jeff, Any thoughts on Matthew Brown?

I hadn't seen him until last weekend, but he's very fast. Gets to pucks. Not saying he isn't skilled but his compete and energy is what will allow him to produce. Really come on strong from the few people I talked with who had seen him play last year or so. Dubuque scouting staff is one of best and they did nice job identifying him.

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

PC picks up a late recruit. Conger was a former St Lawrence recruit. I wonder if the Hawks had any interest? Norm mentioned in the Sun article about possibly bringing in another recruit for next season.

Mike McMahon‏ @MikeMcMahonCHN
'97 F Bailey Conger (Waterloo Blackhawks, USHL) commits to Providence College for this fall.

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

Neutral Zone evaluation of recruit Matthew Brown from the recent Pre-Draft showcase which was held on May 12-14, 2017.

Matthew Brown #7 (F, Hockey Essentials White)-Matt announced his commitment to attend UMass-Lowell after the first day here. He was the best player in the EHL this past season. If anyone had any doubts that he could continue that success against players from other leagues, he put that to rest here. He looked strong and we loved how he successfully pressured opponents when they had the puck. He was aggressive and prepared. He showed his usual ability to make smart plays with the puck and get to productive spots without it. His approach and hockey IQ make UMass-Lowell a good fit. He was excellent here. College: UMass-Lowell

In between he was an RPI recruit. PC is his third commitment.
