I want a coach that won't be afraid to try to recruit a blue chip player (Even though there's little chance Lowell gets this type of player), can make in game adjustments, and has an effective system (win games ****it).
if it goes official... I'll just be happy to be done with "its a marathon not a sprint" type of stuff. I don't think its a great thing that we are in this situation... but sometimes you need to make a change.
edit: hokydad, if you want to fight the bcers on the lyles stuff do that on their thread.
It does sound like CHN jumped the gun. I'll give them a pass, though. It's not as if Wodon is getting rich off of manufactured controversy. CHN is a hobby website, and my guess is that it was an honest mistake.
Well the bcers did come here instigating.
HAHA
he wouldnt go if Cavanaugh got the job.
I like Blaise.. wish him the best wherever he ends up.
There has to be a scapegoat & the buck stops with the coach.. especially with this situation.
G'luck Coach.![]()
like he is some golden boy savior, whatever. i would think UML and their fans would be better of with and prefer Cavanaugh (BECAUSE of his BC connections and York influence)even if it meant losing boy wonder Lyles.
If this becomes reality, hopefully members from the current freshman class and/or next year's recruits don't fly the coop. The frosh class really came together towards the end of the season and there are a good amount of recruits coming in. It's good to start a new chapter for the program, but hopefully the transition can be relatively seamless and players stick around. A coach with a name for himself will definitely help in keeping these players in Lowell.
I do believe there is a reservoir of good will among the UML community for hockey. Several of the pieces are in place to have a successful program - one of the best arenas in the east, a now on-campus student body, and a hockey rich area that appreciates the college game. They just need the right guy to take these things and build on it. If Dennehy can do that at Merrimack, it can certainly be done at Lowell.

He was a 2nd asst here and did a great job not only recruiting but on the bench. The CC job was a first asst rather than a second one- a move up. He was well respected by the alums and by the players as far as I know. Great guy and unless he has changed he really gets stuff out of kids because he expects it.Question about Bazin... what does he have to offer to the program? I know former alumn, current head coach for a D-III team, and I believe recruiter for Colorado College, right? If he's a fantastic recruiter, I can get behind that, but what about his on ice management? Does anyone have any idea what his coaching style is? I haven't done a ton of homework on the guy, obviously, so I just wanted to see what others think of him, and if they like him, why?
