Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

I am lost on why you would go and see nothing. From what I can figure out the sightlines are awful. I guess I am old. I would rather watch from my couch, have a nice big glass of chocolate milk and be dry n' warm.

Substitute chocolate milk for a cold beer and we are on the same page :D. You know what? I think I'll listen to the game on ESPN 900!!!!

For me, it's a chance to see my team play live. It's a chance to see a pretty cool moment for the Lowell program (regardless of if they're last to play there). If they're invited to another Frozen Fenway, I probably won't go. But with this being the first time, I'm looking forward to it. And apparently I have good seats, so I should have a good sight line.

BTW, something I meant to bring up but forgot. Did anyone else see Sexton pretend to punch one of the Lowell players during the handshakes post-game, which caused the line to stop for a second. His own teammate grabbed him, and they continued on and he did the same thing to one of our assistant coaches (Lammers, I believe it was)? Again the line stopped, and at that point one of the linesmen came and pulled Sexton out. Not sure *** that was about?

My brother noticed some strange things in the handshake line. He thought one of the Clarkson assistants had some words with some Lowell players.

Not sure about that. I know that I saw Sexton being pulled out of the line by one of the linemen. A couple of people in the stands proceeded to tell him what we thought of his actions.

My feelings on the Frozen Fenway have been stated a few times, so I'll just say I hope the guys enjoy the experience and that no one gets injured on what I'm sure will be abysmal ice.

This is a really big game for Lowell. All HE games from here on out, and we're going to start losing games in hand rather quickly.

Just noticed that the Residence halls reopen at noon Sunday 1/19. Too bad it wasn't 24 hours earlier, I'd love to have Tsongas rockin for the BU game 1/18.

In other HE news tonight.
- NU rallied to defeat PC 2-1. The Huskies tied the game with 34 seconds left and then won it 12 seconds into OT.
Braden Pimm scored both goals for the Huskies. A tough loss for PC. The Hawks will have their hands full on Saturday.
- UVM defeated St Lawrence 4-2. UVM is on a roll. The Catamounts are currently 11-6-3 on the season and 8-1-2 in their last 11 games.

Big four point swing game for Lowell this weekend. A win puts us only 1 point behind NU, with four games in hand. A loss though puts us five back, and they'd have the tie-breaker.

Full credit to UVM, but only 2 of those 11 games were on the road (weird schedule). The SLU game last night was the first of 8 straight on the road (including 6 straight HE games).

So, basically, an entire month on the road... Nuts

I've not followed college hockey for very long. Some weeks ago I saw a comment in another thread that said its rare for goaltenders to leave school early to turn pro. Is that true?

Not necessarily.... Goalies, IMO, don't tend to get pulled early due to the uncertainty in their progression. Also, as its a singular position I think teams tend to keep plans on who to bring in when. You don't want a guy like this sitting on an ECHL roster.

I reserve the right to be wrong. All kinds of things tend to get said around players like these.

Happy Birthday, Pat!

In regards to the goalie question... I'd love to see an analysis of the kids that were drafted before starting college and see how many stick for four years.

Anyone concerned about the weather forecast for Saturday? What are the contingency plans if rain and 50+m degree weather arrive? I don't see how they could maintain the ice in that

I believe the contingency plan is Sunday.
