Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

I have been informed that the game at Maine is being moved to Sunday December 8th at 4pm.
Originally this game was going to be on tv (WFVX FOX 22 / FOX College Sports by FOX College Sports). Hopefully that's still the case.

Holy Cross hangs on and beats BC 5-4 today. The Crusaders entered the 3rd period up 5-1.

Bunch of non-conference games this weekend. UVM sweeps Maine, their third and fourth games of the year against each other. UMass got killed by the Q tonight. Yale beat MC in OT tonight. Northeastern pulls off the upset at Notre Dame. PC wins the Mayors Cup over Brown. And two games going on.

BU defeated Cornell 3-2 @ Madison Square Garden tonight. BU had only 11 shots on goal for the game. Cornell had 39 shots and went 0-7 on the PP. According to the boxscore the game was a sellout (18,006)

You guys ready for the last home game until the new year? After the season start I'm not considering any game easy and the important thing is just win baby but it would be fun to see an outburst on offense.

BTW, how'd we end up playing Clarkson 3 games in a row?

BTW2, I wore my UML jersey to the Bruins game on Saturday night and got many nice comments/compliments.

When I think of AIC I think of the story when the Chiefs played them many yrs ago. They were beating them by some ridiculous amount and Billy Riley told them they better not score again. Someone did, I think it might have been Kaiser?, and he had a fit. The kid said he was trying not to score. Lets hope this is a better game to watch.

I have three extras for tonight, if anyone's interested. Will be at the bar around 5:30 latest.

It's strange, but its nice that they are a ranked team right now and we're playing 2 of the 3 at home. Does anyone know how the Catamount Cup Tourney works? Its not a traditional Semi-Final/Finals format. What happens if the two teams that do not play each other win both of their games? What is the tie breaker?

I remember when that happened as I was listening to the game on the radio.
University of Lowell beat AIC 22-0 in Springfield back in 1982 and Ken Kaiser scored 9 goals (3 in each period).
He was mentioned in Faces in the Crowd in Sports Illustrated.

Connor Hellebuyck named Hockey East Co-Goaltender of the Month for November with Jon Gillies.

Any update on Scott Wilson?

I know he practiced yesterday. Not sure if he's playing tonight or not. I was told they may hold him back since it's a non-conference game, but that decision hadn't been made yet.

Thanks Scott. That's good news, they'll need him for the Maine game on Sunday.
