Re: UMD 2010-11 Season

We have our big guns back, but a little bit of this wouldn't hurt either:

LOL!!!!!! That's awesome, Schmoe! Oh Joce... What are we gonna do without her next year?

Oh-- another great reminder courtesy of Shmoe's website--- the game starts at 7:37 on Friday. Does that mean I can get into Canal Park by that time?

Re: UMD 2010-11 Season

Yes, whatever it takes!!!! A bit of that might come in handy too!! There have been some classic rough and tumble games between them . . . either way, UMD usually comes out on top! Harss or Santa in game one????

Re: UMD 2010-11 Season

Yup, Her Royal Badness should be on deck. Kim got the starts in Bemidji two weeks ago and HRB might have some payback to deliver for the Buckeyes beating the Dogs 6-3 last time they played in February.

That's what I hope too! That was the Dog's last loss on their way to the national championship - a bit of revenge is on order.

Hi Y'all.... this is my first post ever, so I'll make it a good one..... Here's a little nugget for all you Bulldog fans out there. Team Canada U22's Brigette Lacquette will be joining your team next year! Don't know how Miller did it, but she did it. You'll like her, enjoy a long run of championships!

Brigette Lacquette apparently started this season playing with her sister in Canada at the University of Manitoba..... No longer appears on the roster.

Welcome rugrats and thanks for that bit of info! Like an early Christmans present for sure! Or perhaps an early American Thanksgiving gift and something for hockey fans to be thankful about at their upcoming holiday dinners!

Welcome Rugrats . . . hope you hang around! If your bit of news holds true with a signed letter then there will be dancing in the streets of Duluth!! Thanks!

A little bit of what, dangerous hits?

Isn't it ironic that after the series where the photo was taken, the talk by UMD posters was about how chippy OSU was. The comments were laughable -- OSU is no more chippy or physical than any other team in the league. There likely would have been less of those comments had UMD swept.

Regarding the photo, I get that a definitive conclusion can't be drawn from a single frame, but based, if on nothing else, the distance from the boards, that looks like a dangerous hit. I wish I could remember if there was a penalty called. At any rate, it is always an interesting weekend in Duluth. Maybe we'll get some of the customary stuff like loud cheers for injured opponents. Fun stuff like that.

No, it wasn't a dangerous hit. They were a little further from the boards than the picture makes it look like. Both were going for the puck and Feste turned into Larocque, who was moving at the time. There was a wee bit of acting on Feste's part for dramatic effect, but in fairness that went both ways. Later in the game, Jenny Harss did some acting, too, when Spooner crashed the net. No penalties were called, nobody got hurt and the game went on.

I've we were going to play 'that' game..

I won't see Friday night's game.. shooting Cromwell football again.. at 8 am at the Dome.. no way did I want to get up at 4:30 am and head south so going down Friday night to watch a Cloquet girls game in Eden Prairie then stay down there. UMD's only loss in the 2nd half of last season came against OSU, though it was on the emotional senior night so at least personally I'm writing that game off to that.

You will need to be in Canal Park by 5:15 pm or so.. it's Christmas City parade night and the parade route goes in front of the DECC ramp so you can't get in there if you use the ramp.. plus a ton of other downtown parking is taken early. We've only had 2 women's games happen on Christmas City night before, and it's worse now than in the past. You'll be best to use the 5th avenue west exit to railroad street. Almost makes me glad to be in Minneapolis instead this time.

That's quite a memory for detail you've got, and I'm not saying you're entirely wrong, but it's probably a bit more subjective a picture than what you paint. I do remember that nobody got hurt and that's the most important part.

My memory sucks, but I shoot in long sequences. That's the only thing to remind me of any particular play. Anyway, I just posted it because I thought it was a neat picture.
