UMass Lowell Offseason 2014: Brave New World

Re: UMass Lowell Offseason 2014: Brave New World

Yes, I'm watching the 2013 and 2014 Hockey East Championships this morning. Don't judge me.

Don't tell us the ending. We'll find out on our own. :D

Re: UMass Lowell Offseason 2014: Brave New World

I just got a car so I'll make it to the bridgeport set coming back to DC. I wish I could do the Minny trip but I just got a car :p We'll see if I make any drives up, but not during the first half... though the MSU/UM set is tempting as the school keeps suggesting I should come up for their functions.

Re: UMass Lowell Offseason 2014: Brave New World

Has anybody heard anything about if they will be doing a "First Taste" again this year and if so, when it might be?

Re: UMass Lowell Offseason 2014: Brave New World

Somehow I had missed this completely.

According to 2 sources UNH goaltender Casey DeSmith remains suspended indefinitely. Don't expect further action until legal process complete

Original story.

looks like she's basing it on Bazin's reputation to spin gold. I think this year will be a test of a lot of different notions of how and why we've come this far in a short amount of time.

edit: if we are in the national 6-10 range by the end of the season I'll be ecstatic... I would think, in my opinion, we'd be looking at a once-a-generation type coach.

Ryan Lomberg is no longer with Maine due to an off ice altercation. He's playing in the USHL this season with Youngstown.

Re: UMass Lowell Offseason 2014: Brave New World

This is great...Charlie the Chief is back!

I remember the drunken Chiefette skating mascot from 1985 or so who fell on the ice and a bottle came tumbling out.

I also remember the "skating" mascots of the 80s. They could not skate very well.

Re: UMass Lowell Offseason 2014: Brave New World

there was a kind of charm to that

Or they were drunk.

And still wondering how many banners we'll see raised opening night. Have also heard the new fight song will now be what will be played after every goal. Sieve chant will have to adapt.

I just listened to that fight song again and cringed. It sounds like something from an 80's super hero movie. The only part I like is the U-M-L chant.

Any update on the radio coverage for this season? Will the games be on the ESPN River Hawk radio network (ESPN 900 AM, ESPN 1250 AM, WSMN 1590 AM, and WCAP 980 AM) again this season?

ESPNNH has been doing shows on Monday nights at Boston Billiards in Nashua. I asked them about it and they are doing it again this year, according to the guy who actually does the games.

boooooooooooooooooooo!! another yr of subpar coverage with large areas having no ability to hear the game  Was hoping they let that fiasco die a quiet death. They are making it easier to not listen and get on with doing other things in my life (not that I wanted that). The frustration of trying to listen to that cured me about half way thru last season. More than half the time I turned it off and waited for Mr les to tell me what happened when he got home
