No. 7/8 Denver (0-0-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) opens the 2012-13 season, when the Pioneers host No. 9/10 UMass Lowell (0-0-1, 0-0-1 HE) on Friday at 7:37 p.m. MT. The game will be webcast live on Pioneer Vision. which can found at www.denverpioneers.com for a fee. UMass Lowell, which is ranked No. 9/10 in the national polls, has not beaten the Pioneers since Dec. 5, 1986, when it won 5-4 in overtime. DU is 7-2-0 all-time in the series, but the teams have not faced each other since the 2006-07 season.

All DU players will dress except Juho Olkinuora (suspension) and Larkin Jacobson (suspension).

UML pregame show notes freshman Connor Hellebuyck starting in net tonight, not Doug Carr, making his first collegiate start. Hellebuyck was 5th round pick (150th overall) of Jets in 2012 NHL draft.

Pregame had a great interview with alum Dwayne Roloson who has joined UML as a volunteer assistant coach while the NHL is locked out.

Nice save by Hellebuyck for his first collegiate save. Hopefully he's as billed and will be an admirable back up for Doug when he needs a rest.

Stupid UMass-Amherst had a 3-0, then 4-2 lead on BC and ends up losing in OT. Was looking forward to BC going to 0-2.

Grant Arnold just rocked a UML player. he is a 6'1" 215 lb frosh

2 on 1 for DU, Loney just missed a goal on a nice pass by Nick
