They play Bryant to start the AE playoffs. The two schools just played a a few weeks ago, with Bryant sweeping Lowell in a three game series down in RI.Watched a bit of the UML baseball game today on the computer, It was great to hear Bob Ellis doing the play by play.
I dont know if any of you have been checking some of the softball tourney... there are so many games where there have teams scoring 5+ runs in an inning. It also didnt help lowell that one of the better hitters and fielders i think broke her finger on a play in that inning. Definitely a tough loss thoughThe first game was a tough one losing 10-8. The Hawks were up 8-2 in the top of the 6th inning. Then Binghamton put up 8 runs in the bottom of the inning.
I wonder who's leaving?I noticed this job listing on the UML site.

OK, that surprises me. We own the stadium outright (I think) so what would the expenses be that put us that high? It is good to see that the program is operating in the black though (and according to this, Amherst isn't).Interesting look at the 24-25 hockey operating budgets of the public schools by Matt Brown of Extra Points:

Lowell ranked #10, behind Amherst, Ohio State, and Michigan. On the other side, we spent more than Duluth, Maine, Western, and UConn. Expenses don't include athlete payments.
I was also surprised to see us that high. It definitely wasn't travel. The team left New England only twice that year to play against the North Country teams (bus ride) and the Cactus cup out west (two flights). This was also before Darrow and Holmstrom were hired. Even then, I'd say their combined salaries total less then 200k.OK, that surprises me. We own the stadium outright (I think) so what would the expenses be that put us that high? While the University owns the Tsongas Center, they hire OVG to manage and operate the arena, making the River Hawks a tenant paying for practice ice and expenses associated with home games.OK, that surprises me. I don't see profit margin on that chart? It is good to see that the program is operating in the black though (and according to this, Amherst isn't).
There's revenue shown on a different chart on that site.I don't see profit margin on that chart?
Thanks, I see our revenue did indeed exceed our expenses, but I don't see Amherst's? Is it on that Extra Point library thing? There's revenue shown on a different chart on that site.
Amherst wasn't listed in the Top 10 of revenue, so therefore, their numbers would have to be lower than ours. Thanks, I see our revenue did indeed exceed our expenses, but I don't see Amherst's? Is it on that Extra Point library thing?
Thanks, I'm a little slow today!Amherst wasn't listed in the Top 10 of revenue, so therefore, their numbers would have to be lower than ours.
