UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

5 home games played and twice we've been shut out. In 9 total games, 21 goals scored (for an average of 2.3 GPG. Take out the two games against winless Mercyhurst (0-10 on the year now) and Lowell has scored 1.86 GPG. We've been complaining about the lack of offense for years, and I just don't see any improvement.

The same old story. They need to move the puck and shoot quicker. 22 block shots for UNH last night. They also did nothing on the PP going 0-5 with only 4 shots on goal, 3 of those were on the first PP. Speaking of shots, I would like to see Dalyn Wakely shoot more, only 11 shots through 9 games.

No brothers in the lineup probably two of our best players

To give some credit to another program on campus, after the first two years of hiring Kyle Zenoni saw only two wins each season, Lowell Men's Soccer seems to be picking up some momentum. Last year, they finished 6-5-5 but missed the AE playoffs. This year, they finished 7-6-3 and made the AE playoffs. Last night as the 6 seed, they went to #3 Albany and pulled off an upset winning in PKs after a 3-3 draw. Lowell's goalie scored the tying goal (Goalie GOAL!) with less than a minute left to tie the game at 3. They play at #2 Bryant next on Wednesday. They lost at Bryant earlier this season 3-0.

America East has somehow become a powerhouse on the NCAA Men's side, with last year's National Champions Vermont currently ranked 4th and Bryant ranked 5th in the nation. Full credit to Lowell for going up to UVM earlier this season and getting a point with a scoreless draw. Good luck to the team this week!

Here's the goalie goal.

Also, congratulations to the Men's Cross-Country team, 6 in a row.

I didn't get to see the unh result but so far I like what I see more out of this year's team than last. 500 play sucks but all things considered i like what we got

Since it's public information, Coach Bazin makes $394K/year, while UMass coach Carvel is showing as $621K this year. You could argue (and I would) that those two have had some success and are worth the pay (albeit 57% higher for Carvel is surprising).

OTOH, because I constantly laugh at this program, UMass' football Coach is the third highest paid state employee in Mass, with an annual salary of $1.164M. In his first year as Coach, they're currently 0-10 and have been outscored on average 37.6-10.5. Worth every dollar obviously. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: They were 2-10 last year, with their only wins against FCS teams (one level lower than DI). Their last win against a DI team was against Merrimack towards the end of the 2023 season, and that was Merrimack's first year as a full DI college member.

UMass football should never have been elevated. I get why they did it but the problem is as it ever will be. They are in Amherst. The end.

Their 2 wins last year were against D1 teams. FCS teams are still D1 schools, additionally, Merrimack is an FCS team too

Union 4-0 after the 1st. Ugly start. Union scores 3 goals in the first 5 minutes of the game. The Hawks gave up a SHG and 2 PPGs including a 5 on 3. Lots of penalties at the end of the period.

Union 5-0 after the 2nd. Richard in for Elliot after the 5th goal.
