UMass Lowell 2021-2022: Which way are we going?

Welcome. I highly doubt it will. Hopefully it will be a good sized crowd.

It's not a sellout (yet), but attendance should be over 5500. With walkup sales, it could become a sellout with Standing Room tickets being sold.

You're lucky to be there hobeydog. I've been following the Riverhawks from afar (Oklahoma) since I retired from the Army (2018, Ft. Devens). I was in hockey heaven for 3 years. Wish I could be there, but streaming will have to do.

Announced attendance: 6289 - 40th sellout in arena history.

Had a great time! Very entertaining game...lots of scoring, super energy in the arena and physical play. Unfortunately, I can't get a pass from my wife to drive over to Amherst.

Great, gritty game by the guys last night. Savory has shown hes back to being what we were expecting of him. Did anyone else see that Austin O'Rourke is back on the roster? Also does anyone see what exactly happened w the lee, trevino incident?

I didn't see that about Austin.

Lee and Trivigno were both tied up with each other at the blue line and went to the ice. I believe a roughing penalty was being called on Trivigno at that point. Lee got up and crossed checked Trivigno in the midsection and Trivigno went down. Trivigno is called for embellishment. Mercuri jumped in and took a shot at Lee and was called for roughing. Makar went to the box to serve Trivigno's first penalty. Massachusetts at UMass Lowell Box Score - December 3, 2021 - Hockey East Association (hockeyeastonline.com)

Good test this weekend. Hoping for at least 4 points.

Unfortunately, the Hawks could only manage 2 points on the weekend. They played tough but you can't make mistakes against a good team. I only watched the video feed tonight but boy it was tough to watch a couple of those UMass goals.

On to Vermont. I expect 2 tough games.

According to both uscho's and chn's rosters they both had him on (when he wasnt at the start of the year)

The USCHO roster also lists several other players that no longer with the program, including Michael Dill, who played 1 game in 2018. The CHN roster page is correct and does not list O'Rourke.

I didn't catch any of last night's game. The box score says Henry Welsch started? That's surprising. I hope Savory is okay. I thought Umass looked like the better team Friday night. Not by a ton, but I wasn't surprised that they tied the game late. If they had a lot of players out of the lineup, you wouldn't have known it. They are getting a lot of production from very talented freshmen. UMA is going to be very, very good for awhile.

Lowell outshot Umass by a good margin last night. Did they control the play more last night and UMA capitalized on mistakes?

I have mixed feelings on the new OT format. It's definitely more entertaining, the shootout was fun, but man does it complicate the standings. The team's social media called this weekend a split, but I view it more like a 1 point weekend from the old format, which is a bad result. Even the Northeastern OT win, it's a win for the teams record, but not as good as regulation win, and it's practically a tie in pairwise.

One other thought, what an outstanding crowd Friday! It did sellout like Scott suggested. I'm thrilled the team overall is playing well and this type of atmosphere has returned. Even before covid, crowds were dwindling. Having a matchup against Umass fill the building, especially the student section, is great for Lowell. The Boston teams always draw well and now Umass it seems.

Any tips on gameday parking? I was on the 3rd floor of the parking garage on Friday and it took me a while to get out.
