UMass Lowell 2018: Champions of the Offseason

Re: UMass Lowell 2018: Champions of the Offseason

I like how your three games with NU are 3 different months. Who needs weekend series anyway?

@JeffCoxSports

In addition to current assistant David Carle, Norm Bazin, Derek Lalonde and Steve Miller are names I'm hearing as candidates to replace Jim Montgomery at Denver.

Would be a big blow to Lowell if Bazin went to Denver

Why is that strange? Merrimack played them in Denver this past season. And won!

I’m not saying Merrimack can’t win. I’m saying when they do come east it’s usually to play a higher profile team as a matter of RPI/pairwise figuring.

We’ve both been around too long to think I’m looking it as “Merrimack bad”

And I’m saying Merrimack went to Denver so it’s Denver’s turn to come to Merrimack.

I was surprised to see France is in the IIHF world tournament and Guillaume LeClerc is not only on the roster but he has an assist too. Good for him. It's too bad it never worked out for him here.

I’m surprised... either he had a quality spurt or team France is hurting for depth these days

His team won the title in the French League. He was 3rd in the league (and led his team) in goals in the playoffs (8), and tied for 5th in points (13). In the regular season, he had a line of 6-9-15 in 20 games. We always heard he had the talent, it just never translated here.

well, hopefully this gives him a chance to jump to another league

He's from France - ever think that this is where he wants to play? Yorick Treille is still playing in that league. Baptiste Amar spent all but one year of his professional career in that league. Just because you think it's not a great league doesn't mean that he thinks that too.

20 game season though? You're right though.. I'm not him... but I'm used to thinking most of these guys want to be pro in the best league they can manage until life tells them they ought to hang it up (family, career, injury, whatnot).

I'm not trying to be a jerk.
