UMass Lowell 2015-2016 Season Thread II

Re: UMass Lowell 2015-2016 Season Thread II

For sure. The blog Riverchief linked is mostly humor, and the ongoing theme is disrespect for Lowell hockey.

Interestingly, no hay was made about the brutal non-call where Chapie got tackled that led to Chapie's frustrated slash, the resulting penalty, and the power play goal. 3 years ago TIIL would've had a lengthy diatribe about such obvious disrespect.

Has anyone see Campbell at recent games or even at the selection show gathering on Sunday? I had heard it might have been a knee injury. With that said, the injury happened almost 6 weeks ago...and I am not even sure at this point he would be a better option then guys we have in the lineup. After seeing Francis make in appearance in the Hockey East Championship game this past Saturday it just got me thinking about Campbell again and how nice it would be to see him out there.

Personally, considering that Campbell hadn't been producing all season (and to my eye didn't seem to be playing particularly smart hockey), I think his injury has worked out well for the team overall.

He was prominent in the first shot of the team in the video they put up on goriverhawks.

I would agree, considering Norm cleared the bench Saturday for every set of fresh legs he could get, if Campbell was going to play it probably would have been Saturday. Must be pretty serious, hopefully he comes back next year and produces more like his Frosh/Sophomore seasons.

I agree that he wasn't producing on the stat sheet, and the injury opened the door for some others...but boy it would be nice to have another big body out there with NCAA tourney experience. He scored a big goal vs BC in the regionals that gave us the the lead in the third as a freshman.

Isn't this him sitting in front of a pair of crutches?

I'd say he's done for the season.

Yes, Campbell was on crutches Sunday. Is Dmowski healthy? I thought we would have seen him this past weekend. He hasn't played since the first BU playoff game.

Dmowski could be in the dog house, who knows, but inserting Francis into the game Saturday could be for senior playoff experience rather than a freshman who has shown flashes but sometimes can be prone to taking penalties at bad times. Oh wait a minute, that was Chapie on Saturday.

I'm gonna miss those two free wins every year from Notre Dame.

Personally, I'm going to miss the pathetic excuses from their coach. "We had to travel to Boston so much!" Well no kidding, you moron? Did no one on your side ever look a map of the U.S. before?

Agree about Francis playing Saturday night. Dmowski can add some size and he has played well along the walls lately. I think he'll be a very solid player in coming years.

Those chartered flights must be tough to take.

Well this stinks (from UML Athletics Facebook, posted three hours ago) -

"Unfortunately, due to a lack of student interest around the holiday, we've had to cancel the bus trip to Albany. Student Tickets are still available at the Times Union Center Box Office for students at a discounted rate."

I can't see how Lowell can pull the plug on the bus trip 6 hours after announcing it on Facebook today? Not a whole lot of time to make plans given they announce it at around 10am and then kill it at 4pm? I know it's the holiday weekend but that doesn't seem to be affecting Q as seen on their website -

"Quinnipiac Athletics will also sponsor round-trip bus transportation for Saturday, Mar. 26. If Quinnipiac wins on Saturday, bus transportation will also be provided for Sunday, Mar. 27.

Fan Bus Information (Single Day Transportation, Non-Refundable Reservation Required)
Saturday, Mar. 26 - Cost: $10, Students/$20, Fans, Alumni and Parents // Student bus departs North Lot at 11 a.m.; Fan bus departs TD Bank Sports Center at 11 a.m.; both buses will depart the Times Union Center approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the game. REGISTRATION FOR SATURDAY'S BUSES CLOSES ON FRIDAY, MAR. 25 AT 3 PM.
Sunday, Mar. 27 - Cost: $10, Students/$20, Fans, Alumni and Parents // Student bus departs North Lot at 3 p.m.; Fan bus departs TD Bank Sports Center at 3 p.m.; both buses will depart the Times Union Center approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the game. REGISTRATION FOR SUNDAY'S BUSES OPENS AT THE CONCLUSION OF SATURDAY'S GAME, AND CLOSES ON SUNDAY, MAR. 27 AT 12 NOON."

How can Q keep bus registration open until Friday afternoon, day before the game, while Lowell kills it 6 hours after announcing it and 4 days ahead of the game? Unbelievable fail on the part of Lowell on this to help get fans there with poor publicity and effort. Really disappointed.

I hope not to miss my namesakes last collegiate game but family obligations will trump any games this weekend - as previously mentioned by others re:'the few times a year'.
In other, more noteworthy, news :

Noticed this in the Sun article and thought it worth mentioning : "White's senior class can win its 100th career game by defeating Yale."
Hoping I get to see #'s 102 & 103.

If Lowell makes the Garden next year again ... the semifinals are the same night as St. Paddy's. Oh boy, that should be a fun event.

Anyway, I'm out for Albany. :(

Hope you feel better!

Agree on the missed the boat for the bus. I must say I am very surprised they did that so poorly. To announce mid-morning with no prior warning and then kill it before people even have a chance to find a way to get it together is....well, seems like there wasn't a whole lot of motivation to make it work.
