Breakout has been poor. They're missing passes that usually look easy. These penalties need to stop. They've dominated play for long periods then a penalty.

In the end they need to bury one

This is ****ing embarrassing

I had a bad feeling about this one. We're way overdue for a league loss and they are overdue for a win. Hopefully Lowell wakes the **** up in the 3rd. Except for the first game against BC, I don't think they have won a game after falling behind by one goal...

Sitting with a guy who is a linesman/ref. Running joke- the linesman is always right. Tonight the linesman was not always right. I wonder if that guy knows if you get to the dots forst icing is waved off? Also wondering if they can count.

Other than that, being obviously clueless, I thought it was entertaining to watch. The Maine kid Brown was pretty quick.

well, Jim Connelly flipped out... which it seems to take a bit.

Sorry I was off by 1.

Thank you Maine for changing your style of play in the OT. Maine just let Lowell control the play and it looked like they were just waiting for Lowell to get the game winner by mostly standing around and letting Lowell do whatever they wanted to. Nice comeback win for Lowell and they sit atop HE with a 7-0-2 record! Did anybody think this would happen?

I would have loved to have heard that. It didn't affect the game as far as being lopsided. They were blind and dumb for both sides. I think they just wanted to get the game over with. Man they missed some real doozer penalties on both sides and then called a few that left me baffled. Added spice to the game :p

Positive outlook on this: we're at the top of Hockey East at the end of the first half, unbeaten in league play, top 10 in the polls and this was supposed to be a rebuilding season.
A lot of our games have been ugly, this one included but hey I'll take what we get at this point.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time, but the second time the Lowell player was ahead by half a step and they still called it. I was very confused.

Maine fans talking about a missed major penalty. Does anyone know what the hell they're talking about? Surely not the Wallin hit, which looked clean to me and wasn't called for anything.

It wasn't easy or pretty but they found a way to get the win. Give Maine credit they played tough.

Wow....how about that hit by Wallin on Hayes.

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

Lowell was out of sync for most of the night. They had the better of 5x5 play, but every pass was just out of reach, pucks wouldn't settle down, etc. Those things are gonna happen and they can be worked out.

The turnovers were another story. Suter calls for the puck on the point from the other D. He waits until the Maine player is right in front of him before he blasts the puck off the defender and it goes the other way for a Maine break. Kamrass gets the puck at the center of the blue line with a defender to his left. Holds the puck, winds up and it's stolen from him and goes the other way. These are our senior defensemen and they were responsible for the lion's share of the turnovers tonight.

Lowell didn't have many quality scoring chances in the first two periods. Shots came at bad angles and from the perimeter with no one in front of the net to make life hard for Romeo. Third period comes along and they score from out front in the slot and from crashing the net. Overtime they get the game winner with Louria jamming at the net. It's not a coincidence that they scored when they started getting chances in the high quality areas.

Give credit to Maine. They played hard, and they came out stronger in the second after getting dominated in the first. I'm glad Lowell is 10-3-3 at the break, but there has to be work done to put a 60 minute game together.

It was a hit against the boards in the Lowell end, the Maine player went down and I was just waiting for the hit from behind call...particularly the way the officials had been calling penalties against Lowell. It was a good non-call and more embellishment than anything else.

I love sitting next to this guy. Great sense of humor. By the end of the night he just kept saying "that was wrong."

Kapla high stick?
I saw CHapie cross check a guy in the throat in the Third that I was sure was going to be called. The Kapla thing was against the boards on my side so I couldn't see it.

Ans to whoever made the comment about the rebuilding year- yup. I was resigned to pain at the start, then growth and finally hopefully improvement with a merciful end to the season. Who would have thought we would be looking at this when both of the goalies give out rebounds like candy and they are playing so many Frosh?

Yep, come a long way from being the team that played it's heart out but came up short.

Dare I say it? I think over the last 3 games Zink has been UMLs best defensemen.
