I'm not sure anyone else was amused by this, but in the timeout before MSU's insane siege that ended the game, one of the clips they played was from "300." The movie where the Spartans are good guys.

Its apart of our lovely montage every time there is a timeout late in the 3rd when we are winning.

The students also attempted a "What is your profession?" line, though it was not as successful as some of the other more....colorful chants that we had that night.

Yeah, it sounded to me like "Cheryl", which is his mother's name.

I would say it seemed like they were copping Knicks fans from those mid-90s Knicks-Pacers NBA playoff series, but that would predate most to all of those kids so I doubt they'd even have any idea. (For the unaware, Knicks fans chanted "Cheryl" at Reggie Miller because his sister, Cheryl Miller, was probably the best women's basketball player of all time up to that point (pre-WNBA), and Reggie often said that she was way better than he was.)

Radio couldn't figure out what was going on.

IMO, everything is fair game short of anything outright criminal or ******y.

For instance when BU put up Hutton's phone number on the glass. Fair game.

Or when two our fans kept Conklin up all night with phone calls

Perfect. The students research skills are top notch!

Chanting Mom's name? OK. Chanting that she swallows? Crossed the line imo.

Were they really chanting that? That's about as raunchy as it gets.
If the school can't handle it, the league should step in with penalties if it continues.

Hell, BU was going to get penalized in the NCAA Regional if the BU students continued with 'BC Sucks' in their song. Harmless IMO, and a bit over board, but this chant about a kids mom.... WAY, WAY, WAY over the top, IMO. That's just pure filth. JMO.

I don't remember that being chanted a lot, maybe once? Obviously once was too many times. Hopefully the students realized themselves that it was over the line. That being said the student turnout has been fantastic so far this season. Hopefully it continues.

Three times by my count. A few of us gonna write in to the Connector. The cymbal sound during the national anthem and the bull**** chant are pet peeves as well, but not sure the bs chants will go away.

Welcome to the monster that we have created at Yost. Have your AD raise ticket prices to a point that very few students attend games, that's what our DB of an AD did.

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

It appears UVM's student section was using the F word a lot in chants.
Here's the problem and the solution.

Also in terms of the students using the f-word while they sound stupid and dumb because some of it is on the school too. students dont know what or how to cheer because besides cowbell go cats go there is nothing. let them keep the countdown to 4:20 chant but hey maybe UVM should figure out the students need guidance and that they don't actually care about the threat of ejection so they will keep doing the f-word chants

I blame the AD for allowing the students to continue their childlike behavior - no wait young kids know better. They need to start tossing students one by one. I wish they'd sit down to as they block part of the ice for others. They need to figure out how to cheer FOR their team and not against the other. They are not a class act and make us look poorly as a community. They leave in four years but those of us that really support the teams for decades, season ticket holders, are here for years. It is so embarrassing.

On a positive note, after about the 8th kid was tossed and the security staff sat in the student section, the kids started chanting "We believe that we can win" to a clapped beat over and over. While not terrible clever, it was positive and kind of catchy.
I love student chants, but they don't have to be dirty or raunchy. Anyone that has ever been to Alfond Arena in Maine has heard some of the best student chants ever with nary a dirty word spoken in any of them. I've never even heard the Maine students say suck. Impressive.

Your students have to pay to get in?
