Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

For those going to Bright tomorrow evening, a word of advice: Bright is among the 3 coldest arenas I've ever been to. John Fuller and I went to a game there once in the middle of January and it was warmer outside. So, even though it will be mild tomorrow, expect it to be quite chilly inside.

The Tsongas has been chilly this yr. I can't ever remember being cold in there until this yr. Now I wear an extra layer. Wondering if it is just because we are by the Zambonis or is anyone else cold?

I think I know what game you are talking about too (and it was cold outside, and you're right, it was still colder inside)...pretty sure I was wearing my winter hat and coat in the press box. If only I didn't have to hold papers, I would have had gloves on too.
FWIW, having been to the Bright a lot, it's not consistently cold. Depends on the weather out and the number of people inside.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Never been, looking forward to adding a new arena to my list.

when you walk in the air permeates with the "we are better than all of you (pl)" attitude :)but the place isn't bad. The parking thing is horrific, just hope it isnt raining as it will turn into a quagmire ....... Just about anywhere (or everywhere) you go is a step down from your place

Hmm. I clicked schedules on the home page and the game on 12/10 under game notes lists NBCSN

I'll be disappointed if its not on, but for what it's worth the programming guide says something about bob costas then golf.

Doesn't matter though, I've got a dessert to make so ill be home

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Looking forward to seeing if Hellebuyck can continue his play from Saturday night as well...

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Heading down there in the afternoon. Been to Bright once for a QU/Harvard game years ago. Really looking forward to tonight, I'm sure I'll have pick of the best seats with the Pats playing tonight.

Is Connor definitely playing tonight?

Hockey East ‏@hockey_east
MEN: HE Defensive Player of the Week is UML's Connor Hellebuyck. Hellebuyck shut out NU on Sat 2-0, recording 25 saves

I sit over in sec 119 and Saturday night seemed cooler. I wonder if there was an issue with the ice Saturday night too. It seemed like a lot of bouncing puck and a lot of players losing their edges. The Tsongas had an event the night before.

I noticed that too, esp the ice behind the net at the zamboni end

Looking into going tonight but was surprised to go online and see tickets are $20 for tonights game. I suppose somebody must have to fuel the endowments....

Billy Eiserman has left the school as well and will be heading back to Tri-City in the USHL.

Disappointing to hear, but not surprising considering his lack of playing time.

Went from 2 out of the 3 brothers coming to Lowell (and hoping for the third) to none of them...

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Well, somebody got lied to at some point... Bob Costas is wasting bandwidth right now.

edit: and the internet stream is down
