Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Referees in position to make the correct call? What a novel idea.

They better be because the league has shot down goal judges. It's my understanding that teams are going to use students to turn on the red light but they are not allowed to turn them on unless the referee is already pointing to the net and will not have any authority as an off-ice official.

***?!

Even Atlantic hockey has goal judges

Lowell 7th in USCHO preseason poll.

Every HEA team except for Vermont gets votes.

So why bother?

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

USCHO just put out the top 10 returning defenseman.. conveniently leaving out Chad Ruhwedel. Let the disrespect begin.

The game at UNH on Friday 11/30 has been changed to a 7:30 start and will be broadcast on WBIN as part of UNH's TV deal.

The UML @ DU game on Friday, Oct. 19th is being videocast live on Pioneer Vision which is DU's pay webcast. Click on the camera on the schedule to take you to the webcast. Pio Vision offers monthly and annual subscriptions with the monthly being $8.95. There are no single game subscriptions.

$8.95 isn't much more than most schools' single game really.

Thats a good price. I tried to convince my fiancee that we should go out to Colorado, but since I am getting married on October 22nd she didn't go for it. So this way i can still watch it! :)

Interesting that he decided to go to the Bruins rather than head back to Rochester. After watching him a couple times last year, I think the Bruins are definitely the better route. He tried doing too much in situations for Rochester compensating for a lack of talent around him. The Bruins program is always skilled and with the addition of Vatrano, there certainly won't be a shortage again this season. Having him play "up" to talent will be more beneficial than another season with Rochester.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread

Looking over the media guide, some fun things to look forward to...

Riley Wetmore only needs 16 points to hit 100 for his career. He'd be only the 41st Lowell player ever to do so.

Juniors Arnold (needs 4 points), Pendenza (8), Ruhwedel (10), Holmstrom (19), and sophomore Wilson (12) all should reach the 50 point mark this year, while his classmate Wallin also has a shot (if he can match his 25 points from his freshman season). If these guys stay four years, all should easily wind up in the Top 100 point-getters at Lowell.

UML hasn't had back-to-back 20 win seasons since the '92/'93 and '93/'94 seasons.

If Wetmore stays healthy, he will wind up in the Top 10 of games played at Lowell.

Doug Carr currently has the highest save percentage (career) for anyone goalie at Lowell. If he can come anywhere close to last season's record, he has a good chance to reach #5 all-time in wins (career).
