Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Nemec!!! we were heckling him so much these games, but Thursday after me and my friends were yelling at him all game he switched defensive sides to get away from us... And then he knocks over his goalie in overtime on Friday to seal the deal hahaha mission accomplished!
 what can anyone say to this except you have the power...

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

So, have I mentioned that this is just fun?

Great win last night, this team, when it wants to, shows how much heart it has.

Heard from one of the Lowell players last night (I'm not mentioning the name) that some of the Maine players think it was better that Diamond was kicked out of the game. Says a lot about what you think of your "captain."

I'm hearing the pre-game party is at the Harp, and we've got the 5pm game.

Is 5:00 the hope, a hunch or for sure? I'm hoping for 8:00 so I can work almost a full day and get in for the second half of the 5:00 game.

How strict are they with seating? Any chance of buying nose bleeders and moving down? Sorry, I'm a cheap bastaad and I have to bring 3 kids.

They may check tix on the escalators to the diff sections. If so, you could perhaps get better seats in balcony than you have but not get into loge if you have balcony tix.

Any idea which loge section the UML fans will be in at the Garden? I won tickets in a raffle but they are high up in the balcony and I'm thinking of moving down.

I'm tempted to get my seats in the premium club.

Kinda want to skip the balcony since its hard to see from up there

With Hockey East announcing that BU/BC is the late game on Friday, that means Lowell plays the UNH/PC winner at 5pm. Now we just need to find out where the pre-game party will be.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

So despite the sweep of Maine we slip to 6th in PWR because of Merrimack dropping out from the TUC line.

Guess now I hope BU beats BC next Friday and Provi wins tonight.

No doubt I'll be pulling for BU (feels gross even saying it) and I'd root for PC but I'm afraid if UNH loses they could drop to a 4 seed in which case another HEA team couldn't be the 1 seed in Manchester. Would totally suck to run the table, earn a 1 seed and get sent to Toledo because UNH continued their flop.

From what I gather, the win last night should keep UNH from bring a 4.

Right now, we're both #2 seeds it appears. So, we need to be different seeds and not 1/4 or 2/3 seeds for this to work for us, and probably for us to be a 1 or 2 seed.

Forgot to mention the other night how fabulous the band sounded. They were awesome!! The solos inbetween periods were amazing. Wished I was sitting closer so when they finished the clapping I did would have been heard. THANK YOU BAND!!

Yale being one spot ahead of Lowell in the pwr is currently sending Lowell out to Grand Rapids and keeping the Bulldogs in Providence. A UNH win today, per the Yale thread, would send Yale down to #8 in the PWR. So I think that's what we root for? I don't know, too many possible outcomes. Just keep winning :)

I'll go with that. Not 100% sure but I think I'd rather see the hawks play NH anyway. Who do you guys think UML matches up better against?

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Really hate that Lowell could end up in Toledo or Grand Rapids while UNH gets their own backyard no matter what. I guess I'll root for UNH today so that Yale gets knocked down a bit..

Somewhat off-topic, what are the requirements to host a regional? I know Providence, Bridgeport, Worcester, Manchester are bigger than Tsongas, but they're not bigger by THAT much. And besides, the attendance at the regionals has been pretty weak the last few years. Maybe mixing it up and having it at Lowell would bring attendance up. We finished 11th in the country in overall home attendance and we're withing easy driving distance for all the Boston schools and most of the rest of Hockey East.
