Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Congrats!
Chocolate MIlk!!!

I woke up this morning and my arm is killing me! Thought I slept on it wrong until I realized it was from ringing the bell. I can't remember the last time I needed to switch arms because my right arm was too tired to keep going. :D Willie's Mum is the best and who ever else was with them. They had the spare bells and boy can they make noise!

Trying to figur out how to get 'River Hawk fever 2 weeks in a row on a Friday. THink it might not happen :(

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

I thought it was a terrific night. My son got us tickets as a Christmas gift, of course not knowing (or really caring) which teams would be there. We were in 109 and loved the experience. I estimate that of the 13,000+ last night, it was roughly 7,000+ for Lowell...clearly they are developing a reputation as a team that will 'travel well.' No doubt in my mind that with Lowell and UNH in the VWA (10,000+ capacity) the NE Regional will win the attendance battle. I'm looking forward to watching the replay of last night on my DVR.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Even the next day this is completely unbelievable. I saw UML fans all over the place last night and it really felt like we had 7, if not 8 thousand fans in the near 14 thousand that came. All of this is completely surreal, and I am loving this. It seems as though we're going to Manchester. Words cant even describe it.

On another "moving on" note. Are we having a Selection party? If so, when and where?

The game turned in UML's favor during the second intermission when Rowdy completely owned the BU mascot in the on-ice shootout. :)

Selection party is at SportsZone in Dracut, 8:30.

Scared me when they won the sled race. Fri night they lost and the team won. I never knew I could be so superstitious!

How do the ticket sales work? I got the order form from uml marketing that offers a 3 game regional package for $77. Can 1st and 2cnd round be bought seperately?

Forgot about that...UML swept the night, winning the student sled race, Rowdy owning the BU mascot, and the championship. Everyone came to win Saturday!

I think it was closer to 10. Not only did you have your fans, but pretty much every neutral observer was cheering for Lowell. Afterwards I went to the Fours and the place was packed with UML fans. So were Hurricane O'Reilly and the Sports Grille. 2 hours after the game ended fans in Lowell jerseys were still evident on Canal and Causeway Streets. The cold didn't seem to bother them. :-)

Whatever your athletics and PR departments are doing is a raging success. Our athletics department used to be like that...wonder what happened...

It was cold out last night? Didn't notice.

You should have seen The Harp pregame, it was insane with the main floor jammed while the basement room was packed too. Postgame, a lot of UML fans were also at Beer Works and Sullivan's Tap where Bill Riley was holding court and lots of UML fans were hanging out, shooting pool, etc.

In the past, the NCAA has been trying to ensure good attendance for all three games at a Regional site and have done so by 'requiring' that only a package be available. But sometime this week, check the VWA web site and they may modify that so you can buy Friday without having to buy Saturday. But with the roll UML is on, why not buy both days? It would be heroic if Lowell toppled Wisco (odds-on favorite to be in Manchester to face Lowell). Wisco is likely to have an 'Oh $hit' moment if that comes to pass. One of their last efforts against Hockey East was BC's thorough 5-0 dismantling of them in the Championship game in Detroit in 2010.

I saw quite a few Lowell fans on Hannover Street at Mike's Pastry. Seemed like we were all over the North Station. When I walked back to my car (it was all the way at North Jetty) we had people cheering or asking who won. Nothing like enjoying Boston like this.

Thanks. Don't take this the wrong way, not trying to be snarky, but I would gamble that UNH doesn't make the 2cnd round and I could buy their fan's tix cheap.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Big congrats Hawks! Now go win a Nat Championship. Make H.E. proud.

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Congratulations to the Riverhawks, and all of their fans, on winning the HE championship.

From what we saw last night, it happened with Providence tix @ the Garden so yeah, possible. Just hope you get there, that's the important thing. :D

Oh, no offense taken. I'm more of a BC fan than a UNH one. I just live here. But if you can't buy UNH tix cheap, you'll be able to buy SOMEONE's tix cheap. The fans of two teams won't need their tickets after Friday. You just have to make sure that one of those teams isn't yours :D
