Looks like I am wrong, Hayes looks good on forward. I just saw him snipe a goal on a power play from down near the circle with traffic in front.

Well, maybe Hayes at forward makes more sense. :) Like his enthusiasm.

Wish Morris didn't give up that soft goal there when Anchorage went up 2-1.

Good game though. However, it seems like a special teams battle. Would like it if these two teams can go at it in the third and decide the tie-breaker(given the teams are 1-1 this season) by themselves. :)

It was great to see Mike Golden and his family at the game last night. He still has that great personality along with that golden smile; he was accompanied by his very attractive wife and son. His son’s name is Shawn, named after another Shawn who according to Mike played a very important part of his life.

Speaking of Shawn Walsh his son Travis was in Lowell last night with Michigan State. Travis is a Jr. defenseman who's wearing an "A" for the Spartan's. He had a solid game. Boy does time fly.

so Maine has 3 goalies in the show... did that ever happen before?
Bishop, Jimmy and Darling.

I can remember a Snow and Dunham era, but I cannot remember if there was a third when they were playing.
Alfie, Allison, Marsh... none of them played in the NHL, did they?
Delguidice and King played in the NHL before Snow and Dunny, right?

I think delguidice had a short stint with the Bruins maybe ? Not sure about Kinger.... Didn't he go right to UNE to become a doc ?

King played in two games for the Red Wings, appearing once in the 90-91 season and once more in 91-92 for a total of 61 minutes (3 goals against).
Delgiudice played in 11 games for Boston, appearing once in the 90-91 season and 10 more times the following season (28 goals against).
Alfie played played in two games for Vancouver in 99-00 for a total of 69 minutes (5 goals against).

Snow played in the NHL from 93-94 through 05-06 and Dunham from 96-97 through 06-07

Congratulations to him on what he has been able to accomplish. And agree with earlier post that it was Scott's demise that unfortunately had a steamroller impact on Maine Hockey as he proved most difficult to replace. We had just lost Bishop when he arrived as the successor and went through the Sirman, Wilson period of porous goaltending the next few years. IMHO we are still searching for a goalie who can steal a game. Marty lived up to expectations last year but one year out of four does not a career make!

Yes! We had 3 in 2005-06. Mike Morrison played in 21 games with Edmonton that year, and 4 with Ottawa. He went on to play in 4 games with Arizona the next year. Morrison's 25 games in 05-06 meant that he played more games than Howard (who made 4 appearances) and Mike Dunham who played in 17 with Atlanta that year combined. For Howard it was his first time up for Detroit. Dunham would play in 06-07 for the Islanders. However while Dunham and Morrison played a few games in 06-07 Howard did not get called up again until the following season.

We'll be seeing a lot of BU and BC in November so Maine needs to get 4 points here at home against a weak UMass team.

Morrison (or possibly Frank Doyle) is the most underrated goaltender in Maine history. Still ****ed that Yeats got the start over him in the NC game. Morrison carried the team all season long.

I would speculate that if Scott Darling's demise did not occur, Tim Whitehead would still be head coach. Maine would likely have won the HE championship vs BC in 2010 and gone on to do well in the NCAAs. With good goaltending, the Nyquist/Flynn/Abbott teams could have achieved so much more.

Oh well.
