UMaine Hockey Offseason: Insert Funny Title Here

Re: UMaine Hockey Offseason: Insert Funny Title Here

I thought I read somewhere they were raising a couple hundred thousand a year. Banning the hockey team from having a golf tournament likely isn’t helping. It will be interesting to see what the new AD does as far as the fan groups go.

I wonder where they held that tournament and who built it.

You will also find the Alfonds donated to medical facilities, other colleges in Maine, and colleges outside of Maine. If anything I think there should be a huge amount of gratitude paid to the Alfonds. More than likely when I got scholarship money(which wasn't that much early on account of my high school grades initially, and later became full tuition) it was because of Alfonds.

I thought Red’s recruited a boat load of all stars and we’re ready to take the world by storm, whats he need a new rink for?

To hide when he can't call timeouts correctly... duh?

Don't you know distractions help. :D

They’ve been wonderful people and we’re ever so lucky to have them. With that being said, and this isn’t a slight against them in any way, I’d be surprised to see them make an eight figure donation for a new rink. It seems they like to spread the money around versus going all in on one thing.

Well, if you can't go all in on Maine hockey, then what hell can you go all in on?

Before I get any wisecracks... think again. I don't need early birds chirping me about doubling down on Dysarts "hungry man's" breakfast.

BDN article on Ken Ralph...
https://bangordailynews.com/2018/08...tic-director-wants-to-get-to-know-the-people/

Among his achievements were the newly announced $39 million Robson Arena project, an on-campus hockey arena in Colorado Springs, the $27 million expansion and improvement at the El Pomar Sports Center at CC, and the initial design, planning and fundraising for the $92 million East Campus Athletic Village at RPI.

Seems that UMaine has a hired a gem. Words mean nothing at this point, but my gut feeling is this man will get things done. No better way than by rallying everyone involved with UMaine, from the students, to the Administration, to casual fans, to the local businesses... and all their friends, families and pets. ;) Seriously... seems you've got a Sean Walsh type running the show now. Good for all of Maine. :)

Thanks. But despite your kind words we will gear up for BC. If it is all the same to you.

It’s another step in the right direction. I’m interested to see if Maine will get anything from Hock or Spicer.

Seems like recruiting size. Red should coach the bball team. Big and slow will not cut it. Just my humble opinion.
