I don't care what the score was, PC was by far the better team tonight. Maine looked like one of Reds team. Oh well on to UNH?

Tough loss in OT short handed 4-on-3. Maine played pretty dogged, taking 9 penalties. Boija played well to keep it a game.

The Houle/Poisson 2-0 was a huge wasted opportunity to put the game away. How they don’t get a shot on net is beyond me.

They were both on the wrong side of the ice. If they were on opposite sides they definitely score.

Maine obviously didn’t play their best hockey this weekend but the results were a massive success. A couple more good weekends and they’re in the tournament.

Seemed like Maine was a step behind all night. That lead to a bunch of penalties. That was the first weekend I thought Maine was outskated thoroughly. Against BU it was more of a case of them having more skill and better net front work on our weaker goalie. But this Providence team just outskated and outworked Maine, noticeably.

Providence deserved to win that game. They were behind or tied all game long until the game winner in OT. They stayed with their game and didn't panic. I thought they wore Maine down with their size as the game progressed.

To note, if anyone else was there. Leaman and his staff weren’t in the handshake line. All of Maine’s coaches and both squads went through without incident.

That struck a chord with me.

Maine with 18 minutes of penalties. Basically an entire period. Providence goes 2-9.

I agree on their skating and physicality. You make your own luck, howeverrrrr puck luck was theirs this weekend.

They controlled possessions and ultra aggressive forechecking forced turnovers and long shifts for Maine.

Game turned on the 2-0 missed breakaway and then the only Maine player not changing rifled a blue line shot that missed everything and goes around to the opposite point where a streaking Friar is there. Lesakowski, as the previous Maine penalty by Breen just gets killed and he is skating off seconds prior to the puck cruising by the box, is chasing and takes the final penalty to attempt to break up the 1-0. Penalty carries into OT for its final minute and the 4vs3 one timer was impossible for Boija.
