UMaine Hockey 23 - 24: The Barr Crawl to Glory!!!

Since the goal, UNH dominated puck, Maine stood still. Ostman in net tomorrow. Tough place to play but Maine hasn't looked like earlier in season thats for sure.

I do not understand why Maine is incapable of getting sustained possession of the puck in the attacking zone 5x5. It hasn't happened for like a month and a half.

Going to have to be some lineup changes tomorrow. This team has been solid on the road all year, so no excuse for this kind of effort.

Absolutely outplayed by unh. Maine is NOT playing good at all in every aspect of the game. Just too many things to mention, pick anything.
No intensity either.
Not sure how they will counter this tomorrow.

Pathetic finish, they barely possessed the puck in the final five minutes with a chance to tie. I feel like they haven't really adjusted to other teams feeling out the gameplan, they were routinely peppering like 35+ shots per game and now recently they barely get 20, if they even do like tonight. If they lose again tomorrow night, especially in this fashion, the season could go off the rails very quickly.

They are 2-3 and have been outscored 17-11 since Barr's new contract was announced.

I think they were tanking some before that?? Tonight was brutal, puck possession similar to last weekend. Goaltending not as good so its a recipe for disaster. I'm not shocked they lost, I'm shocked the way they lost. I predicted last week UNH would white out the whitt and win. Happens just about every time they play down there. Hell, Walshy had a hard time in the Whitt.

Seems like since the loss at Northeastern. This is just the 2nd time this season Maine has lost two games in a row.

Tonight was pretty ugly. Not one aspect of their game was average… below average across the board.

I think you go back to the UConn series and from then on they have struggled. They would have gotten swept that weekend if they didn’t have a review go their way and then UConn imploded in the third.

I don’t see it as an effort issue at all. I think Maine is giving it everything they have there just isn’t much left in the tank.

Pretty much is time to admit it...this team has hit the wall....hard....they may have very well peeked and now what you see is what may end there promising start...they are just flat....and you can bet every team has caught on to how to stop Maine....no free skating up ice...no flow thru the center ice into the offensive zone....keeping them at a dump and chase game...fore-check them all over the ice and beat them down with physical play all game long....you can see there confidence is shaken...they can turn it around, but changes need to be in store...get back the NB Line....play like other teams play them...aggressive fore-check....stand the other team up at center ice and blueline....go back to the play hard/never quit attitude....guess easy to say...now is time to start doing it....period.
