Really looking forward to this season. Gonna be veddy veddy interesting. Any more word on Duda?

The couple practices I saw Duda was locked in as a full participant (paired mostly with Nobes), but haven't heard any updates on his status yet.

He uncorked a few nice goals including one really slick backhander during one of the 3x3 drills.

Really wondering what will happen with Duda...as in it has been a summer long that the NCAA has been involved with a yes or no decision. I know that the NCAA does as they please and answers to no one...but being the NCAA you would think this situation would been hammered out before full practices and before October when most teams begin play...

I expected a decision sooner but I think this situation is very unique. There are not a lot of players who go the Russia -> NCAA route and when you layer in the fact that KHL games were played, I’m sure the NCAA wants to cover all their bases before handing down the decision.

I’m still optimistic, I think he misses 10 games or so and then is a game breaker for us.

I see the same if allowed to play that the NCAA makes him sit out the 1st semester.

I’m really excited for the season to start. I’m certainly not as optimistic as everyone else but it hasn’t dampened my enthusiasm in any way. Hopefully Maine can steal a few games at the start of the season and then go on a run after all the tough games are behind them.

I think this should be a good year for the league as a whole. BU and BC will be really good(could both be top five in the country) and I suspect some of the teams that barely missed out on the NCAA tourney last year will get their act together. I see UVM and UNH improving as well even if they don’t move up the standings.

Do you see MS7 getting a job extension, oh great swami, based on an improved UNH team? I think it would be justified especially since he has so little to work with in terms of facilities, rink constrictions, fan base disloyalty,,,,,etc etc (Inquiring minds need to know)

I really think Hockey East this year is going to be a bloodbath. I do think Maine is going to give a little payback to some teams who have been a thorn in their side in recent years like UConn/Lowell/Merrimack.

My prediction is they finish 4th to 6th.

Also Chuck Murray how about a UNH White Out the Whitt sweep this year to get your coach fired?

I've been on record several times stating that I think Maine makes the big tournament this year. I also think if Duda is still in Orono and practicing with the team, both sides have something more than a hunch he's going to play for Maine sometime in this coming season. His camp wouldn't want him sitting out for too long, and the team probably wouldn't want him messing with chemistry and gelling of the squad by being there during practice if he won't ever actually play. Of course, the NCAA acts as they please, so there's no way to know for sure, but I would bet he plays at this point.

I think your right in the 4th thru 6th in Hockey East...they are going to be a tough play each and every game...I don't think the rest of the League is taking Maine for granted...4th place I would think would be gravey.

I can see the student section singing zippity Duda without question. That would be fun, especially when he won’t have a clue about the song.

Looks like another incoming goalie is listed on the roster for this season: Albin Boija (LINK)

Solid numbers in Sweden's J20 last year (2.23 / .921 in 42 games).

Will be interesting to see how the backup starts shake out this season.

Think it’s a stretch for 4th. Unless these frosh are a lot better than expected. We see
