Looks like Swayman getting a preliminary look for World Juniors. Been a little while since Maine had one of those.
Hopefully he doesn't get picked. I still have terrible memories of what happened to Jimmy after he came back. He was horrible the rest of the season, and honest to god looked as bad as Wilsieve in the Hockey East QF's.
All HE goalies, interestingpretty sure they only picked 3 goalies so he will make team
Not likely to play much with Woll and Oettinger ahead of him
Did he go to the WJC...didn't he get hurt {stepped on puck during warm ups @ Alfond/ sprain knee} just before they were to go to the WJC, the year they won with Montoya from Michigan in net.Hopefully he doesn't get picked. He went the year before they won, he was shell shocked the year Jimmy went. The following year greg moore won, Jimmy stayed home with injury I think that's how it went anyway.Did he go to the WJC...didn't he get hurt {stepped on puck during warm ups @ Alfond/ sprain knee} just before they were to go to the WJC, the year they won with Montoya from Michigan in net.
Yes I was told the same about Swayman, when they had the Hall Of Fame weekend, I was told by a friend of Grant Standbrook that he was very high on #1.He went the year before they won, he was shell shocked the year Jimmy went. Anyway it's great Swayman is getting recognized for his goalie play. Won't help this years team but it helps recruiting. Some rink rats have told me from the start of season that Grant is really high on Swayman and thinks he could be one of the best goalies to ever play in Orono if he gets the playing time here.

Have you seen red do that since he has been hereSwayman is a very significant upgrade over what we've seen for a few years now. He can put a sub-mediocre team on his back, and Maine needs that right now.
Kinda hate to admit this, but if Maine is going to challenge for home-ice, they might want to pack it into the D-zone and take care of him down low, as opposed to trying to outscore other teams. ("Boring" hockey is sometimes the better approach, when you don't have much offensive talent.)
World jrs games are awesome, it's great hockeySwayman going to the WJC may act as a learning tool for Maine fans. I noticed over the years few follow this GREAT tournament and when mentioned to them you get back a blank stare. The Canadians are all over it including even sending their own chefs over while playing in Europe according to a TSN play by play team on TV.

Agreed...These teams are like a mirror image of one of another.
