Re: UMaine Black Bears, 2017-2018, reds last stand part 2

The trick with Reds deal is to extend him for 1-2 yrs with a buyout clause thats extremely favorable to the U after 2018-19 season. And dont tell anybody about it. Sure we’ll be pizzed off on the board but we wont have all the facts. Covers recruits and covers the school if next years a belly up.

What leverage does he have really?

I agree with this. You can’t have a coach in the last year of his deal. Unless Maine really tanks the next month this season has to be counted as a success.

Exactly my point, good job.

Red has no leverage at all right now; he hasn't earned any. He has to get a whole lot better to ask for an extension with a straight face. There's no real risk in going in another direction, unless Red figures it out in a major hurry.

UMass doesn't suck, but a Maine sweep is doable if Swayman is on his game. That would be a breath of fresh air after the past two disappointing weekends.

(It's looking like it'll be the first double-dip in Amherst I'm going to miss in forever... Can you believe that The Warden bought us pricey opera tickets for Saturday?!?)

Are you going to the met? I’m sure you’ll have fun and a bit of culture is good to balance out the sports.

Tosca isn't my very favorite, but it's hard to go wrong with Puccini.

Doherty is back in line up tonight. Maine appears to have all regulars healthy.

McCarr out for Umass.

Hamilton out of position on both goals given up. Lacroix not taking the body. Smith too. Really surprising coming from those three.

Binner showing great strength there, strong skates... drew a penalty. Score here makes up for the one he had earlier.
