I
Doherty is back, why would Perez be playing on a big sheet?

That was probably the worst period of defense I've seen Maine play this season. The second goal neither defensemen was even in the shot of the replay. Both up in the high slot area. How does that happen?

Gravel-*** calling it tight. Maine p.p gets one past goalie just to hit pipe.

Frustrating.

Well, not much 5 on 5 hockey. A bunch of power plays for both sides. Maine actually scored on a power play... Fossier centered Pearson for a one timer that got pipe but Michel stepped into the rebound to bury it behind the out of position goalie. At least they are connecting on some of the centering passes.

Maine showed some life at the end of the period. Hopefully they can keep momentum building.

I assume you mean the crosscheck on Binner. What a joke, little bump but the Umass guy lost and edge. Gravel-*** is making himself part of the game tonight.

Yes. Out of curiosity, who would you have in place of Perez? Housakos might be hurt?
Not sure but he is slow and on the big sheet that ain't good.

Haven’t been watching, has Holesinsky been in tonight?

No. I haven't seen him. I think Robbins got hurt but I think I saw him killing a penalty after. Hopefully he can keep going, need his penalty killing. Lot of penalties so far.

Yup, binner touches him, must be the strongest guy on the planet the way the umass guy goes down

That is a good point. But pregame Red gave the impression that since the face off circles are the same distance away that is all that mattered. Walsh used to try to practice on Olympic ice if he had to go against Unh or someone else with big ice. Cahoon thought Maine had a tough time adjusting to it in the first period. Maybe Red should consider adjusting his team and practices before going to Unh. :)
