Re: UMaine Black Bears, 2016 2017 season thread
FWIW on Sunday morning I was driving to the golf course and had Sirius NHL Network on. They have a program early on Sundays called On Campus and the host was introducing Rob O'Gara who played 4 years at Yale and had made the Bruins opening day roster. O'Gara was well spoken and when prodded about his experience, particularly as a freshmen unprovoked added a very nice endorsement of a particular person who was influential in his development. The conversation was about the National Championship year when he was a freshmen and the host extolled the benefits he received being coached by Keith Allain at Yale. O'Gara reinforced how great Allain was but then added that of particular influence that year was one Red Gendron who prepared him so well and who he was sad to lose because of how much he meant. These comments made me think back to some recent comments by Ben Hutton about what Red taught him about stick position. Just reinforces that we have a guy who players respect and who we all hope now has players on board that resemble the kind of team he wants to see Maine be.
Thus far have to say I like what I see from this years addition!
