Hmm. I think if I shave off my greying beard I can still pass as a student and score some free pizza...

The back four rows of section OO have become available for Friday. A single pair of tickets in CC available for Saturday. Any unused student tickets or returned from the UMass allotment should be available tonight or tomorrow.

What's this "everything else" that points in a different direction? You've done nothing to support your position that Maine is a feeder program besides saying "trust me bro".
Hello.

When the little bit of your top-end talent defects, and nobody resembling a blue-chippa wants to join the program, the handwriting is definitely on the wall, fist-fights and "lateral moves" be damned.

Do I think that Maine can still be a prospective low seed in the tourney half the time? I hope so. But I haven't followed this program for 49 years without learning something.

Again, you're ignoring the elite college hockey talent that hasn't defected. Just because Harrison Scott or Albin Boija or Brandon Holt or David Breazeale or Josh Nadeau or Lynden Breen aren't going to play 500 NHL games doesn't mean they weren't high end college players who all stayed.

I haven't been alive for 49 years but I don't think the sky is falling and Maine is suddenly a feeder program because ONE talented culture problem transferred while the majority of the high end talent stays. Penn State's 2-5-1 this year so all those points aren't translating to much in Happy Valley.

NIL has been here for 5 years now and Maine has as many trophies as BC or BU. I get that you want a team loaded with high end draft picks but it hasn't translated to winning when it matters the last decade of college hockey.

I don't believe any of us want/expect a team full of draft picks, we want a real first line of guys who can hit an open net with consistency. I like this team compared to last year, they are hard working, never stop type of team but the Offense is lacking so far. I expect them to get better.

Vermont beat BC, WTF Also Uconn over PC. Going to be a tough year in HE.

Yep, Vermonts gonna be very tough this year apparently. Lights out goalie I guess. Playing them should be a masterclass in frustration.

Let's be honest. Every goalie Maine plays is incredible. It's like they're playing Martin Brodeur every weekend. You'd think the NCAA would limit the number of times he can use the transfer portal, but Maine just has that luck to always play the team he transfers to...

Oster for UVM genuinely looks like a stud, though. I've watched them play this season and that kid is the real deal. Should be a pair of low scoring duels up in Burlington next weekend.

I agree with this. And my thing isn't that Maine needs to go out and spend $4,000,000 per year to have 9 top draft picks or whatever. How much could, say, a first line consisting of three second-round picks cost? I don't think it would even get to mid-six figures. And, yes, I understand only paying a few guys can roil the locker room. That's an issue. But that's why Barr is paid the big bucks.

Every player Maine has is a good Hockey East player. That's going to get you to the middle of the pack. You need a few great players to even things out.

Heck back in the early '90's when we pioneered paying NCAA hockey players we figured it out.

Looks like Peterson is scratched. I don’t remember him picking up an injury. I may in the small minority but I’ve wanted him to watch a game from the stands for a while. So talented but really makes some undisciplined and boneheaded decisions.

Hopefully he’ll be back in the lineup tomorrow and have learned his lesson.

Russell also scratched again.

Re, Peterson, maybe a response to the unsportsmanlike penalty he took in a big spot on Saturday?

I'd be surprised. In the mid week press availability Barr said he spoke with the head of officiating for HE and couldn't get confirmation for what the call was for. Sounds like it may have been a bad call by the refs, but I missed most of Saturday's game.

I was at the game, that play and subsequent exchange happened right in front of me. I didn't hear anything from anyone on the ice at that moment, but I just assumed that Peterson must have said a magic word or two to the referee to get the gate like that.
