UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I think that the risk would be if the University isn't willing to make the commitments necessary to put a national contender on the ice. If, say, Minnesota is telling him that they have the backing for $1M in NIL funds or some rev share money or a ridiculous recruiting budget, and then Barr goes to the UMaine administration and says "can we do that?" and the answer is no, well, I could see him choosing to leave.

I agree that Maine wouldn't necessarily need to match what Minnesota is doing, but "are we committed?" is a very fair question for Barr to ask if he has some leverage. And I would root him on.
I cant comment on nil or rev share dough but I feel like the salary commitment to tbe program is a positive. Over 1 mil in total. They brought in Bennet for 145k which is decent for assistant.
Its not goffer money by a long shot though. Motzko makes like 750k or something in base pay.

My take is theres about a 10% chance Barr gets poached by minny.
