UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

No cutting football program until we have a clear accounting of the $6 million check that everyone in attendance saw exchange hands from Alfond Foundation to Ben Barr.

Looks like UNH won the tourney the way they are celebrating but they deserved it. Maine on the other hand is in deep shit in regards to the team, hockey east, and the big picture
UNH earned that celebration no doubt! Maine on the other hand… things won’t get better as long as the issues behind the bench stay the same…

Don't like the results of this weekend but not surprised either. Team has been regressing since season started. I feel bad for Boija, not sure whats up there. He lost his mojo or something?

The weight of expectations, the talent isn't quite what we thought, no on ice leadership, coaching??

Barr gives a little insight into Boija during post game interview last night. Boija has lost his focus. Barr was asked what was the thought process behind pulling Boija.
Barr said that Boija was still yelling at refs and complaining about getting tripped 10 minutes after it happened meanwhile 2 goals went in and he is still thinking about the trip.
I didnt see the alleged trip on tv.

That happened after it was already 3-1.

Boija came out to the top of his crease when the D had the puck behind the net and a UNH player very clearly tripped him. Murphy was looking right at it and didn’t call it, so understand why he was pissy.

He was drew a line in crease with his stick while he was barking at Murphy like five minutes after it happened before an in-zone draw. Barr clearly didn’t like it and don’t blame him for going with Rooster for the third.

I wonder if Barr's yelling and screaming tactics are causing the team to "reach" and are trying to do too much. Getting away from playing fundamental hockey and let the game come to them. Still a lot of hockey left and time to turn it around. UNH played Maine's style of game with heavy fore check and the defense allowing no time and space. Congrats to them! A huge sweep!

It was a penalty but not like we would have done anything with it.

I think all the new players dont understand what type of game this was going to be this weekend. Played like rookies in an exhibition contest..
