UCONN 2015-2016: The Hockey East Journey Continues..the Future Looks Bright

Re: UCONN 2015-2016: The Hockey East Journey Continues..the Future Looks Bright

Huska is a big get for UConn. He's an exciting prospect for the rangers. dominating stats in the USHL and was Slovakia's best player at the world juniors this year.

Huge get. Sorry to all the empathetic UCONN supporters on this board, but Robbie Nichols did not do UCONN any favors this past year. Especially in the playoffs.

This is a great pick up for next year.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I happen to disagree. He faced a LOT of grade A's, many more than he should have. UConn was always a step slow and nowhere near physical enough in their own end. The teams with a good forecheck just ate their lunch. They have just got to get better there.

Yale Coach Allain's 16 year old son Nik has chosen UConn as his hockey destination, after two years at Taft.

Reviving this thread do raise a question- with Adam Huska committed for next year, and the pedigree of being a NYR draft pick, and with Nichols assumingly returning for his senior year, is there any chance the senior gets bumped in favor of the fresh new kid being handed the reigns, or will Cav make Huska earn his playing time? Either way UConn's strength will once again be in net, in addition to their PP

These are relative strengths you speak of, of course.

Got the annual Athletic Department appeal in the mail yesterday. They listed all the ongoing fundraising for capital projects, and a new rink was absent. Not sure if that means they have all the money needed in hand for a new rink or if they have decided to stay at the XL for awhile.

And I saw something in the Courant last week, think it was the article on the new AD. The list of upcoming capital projects was given and a new rink was not included. This one was a bit more definitive and it was not a fundraising list but a list of planned upcoming projects.

Nichols is toast. Huska is the real deal.

Hoping for a couple late recruiting miracles like last off season. Could use an impact forward or two.

Tage Thompson drafted #26 overall to STL, who traded up from #28 to get him

And Masonius in the sixth, was it? Will be awesome to have three drafted players on this year's team.
