UAH Hockey 2017-18

Re: UAH Hockey 2017-18

Just some info for you on what you'll get in a couple of weeks up in Ithaca. This might be the home opener for Cornell. It's a very tough place to play and few ivy league teams do well there.
Cornell is a defensive system team. A lot like BG, or UND, with counter attacks off turnovers. . The defense is often bigger guys and they are physical in their own end, which benefits them in the ECAC.. They can be beat though, especially early in the year. Good luck.

McHugh back this weekend? Also, any reason why Jordan Larson didn't play against Notre Dame? I figured he'd be a top-six mainstay this year. Hope he's not in the doghouse.

Coach Corbett said this on the WCHA preseason teleconference:

“Unfortunately we’ve had some injuries to our centers, so we’re hoping to get them back by once the conference season starts.”

I'm not sure if he meant this weekend, or in three weeks after we finish our non-conference games (Cornell next week and Arizona State the week after). Guess we'll know when the line chart comes out this afternoon.

Note he said "centers." He didn't say specifically who else other than McHugh is injured, but by process of elimination it's Jordan Larson.

Impressed by UAH's power play. Good skills, bodes well for scoring for the Chargers this season.

Not impressed by all the junk after the whistle. C'mon, you're not Ferris in blue jerseys. No need for that garbage.

I was pretty surprised by our power play...our penalty kill is still a struggle, though, Tech capitalized as I would have expected. Dirk Hembroff said we had "good speed," which is the first I've heard an opponent's announcer say that since joining the league. I am glad it's not a given that team's skate around us all game any more.

I'm all for less junk after the whistle, too.

Tyler Poulsen is suspended for tonight's game after the elbowing penalty yesterday. Not surprising -- he was very lucky he only got two minutes for that hit.

Cornell is a very big team that skates very well.

Re: UAH Hockey 2017-18

Worst series of the year.
Cornell was simply too big and strong and forced absolutely every UAH attack to the wings, and subsequently bad angled shots. When the Chargers did get a decent look, their shots were off target ... 11 total SOG.

Re: UAH Hockey 2017-18

Hello UAH fans,

I plan to come up to see Ferris State play against UAH on November 24th with my family, including my parents from Florida. I want to know if I should buy tickets online or can we buy at the doors, and I checked the prices and it range between 4 to 11 dollars, is it accurate? Does the rink sell beers? Also any input from all of you will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
