Re: UAH Hockey 2012-13: Still breathing
Not sure if you'll be sending your radio crew up, but hopefully I'll have the audio up and working on my website too. We do PPV video through America One, but I ran into some issues with audio on my site the last game. Then again, with our rink, we run into issues with electrical, plumbing, and overall weirdness on a regular basis.
We have no radio crew, and we haven't for a decade. I was on it. We've done a few intermittent broadcasts since then, but nothing sustained. Personnel, resources, airtime.
Where is the best place to purchase a Chargers jersey? I looked on the UAH bookstore's website but didn't see any on there.
Call the bookstore at 256-824-6604. They'll get you squared.
A few small things:
1. Tornadoes. Our kids dodge tornadoes during winter. The second-worst tornado in Huntsville history was on November 15th, 1989. [In fact, "the Airport Road tornado" actually hit Huntsville proper; the Hackleburg-Anderson Hills tornado didn't hit any city property in Madison or Huntsville that I'm aware of.]
2. Miami-Ohio is closer.
3. The only club team we play was our series against Alabama; other than U-18, we play D-III's Adrian and Finlandia.
4. It's the University of Findlay. UF, not FU.

5. Costing us capital? Our travel expenses aren't terribly worse than we've had in the past. We've flown out east to pick up games, which we've typically not done twice in a season.
But seriously, thanks for the love. We loved playing y'all in D-II [by which I mean I loved to see our guys wax you on our ice—our players looked forward to games against the Falcons], and we're happy to keep it up in D-I. My hope is that our program survives past the next few years so y'all can make a return trip.
As for the University's contribution to the hockey budget: I don't know, and I don't want to know.
