UAH 2011-2012 - The Farewell Tour Kicks Off Tomorrow

It might just depend on when they filed the transfer paper work. I do recall when MTU dropped football for about a week way back in late 2003, they had a few kids transfer out of the program there and to other schools. Giving that they're still in season yet, they haven't had the time yet to file that paperwork, I wound think that would keep em right in huntsville
Most have already been actively exploring their options and the coaches have been sending the release form to any school that they have been asked to. One has already verbally committed, some have options to potentially leave after the break. Almost all have set up their spring classes with courses that should transfer (core classes vs. UAH program specific) more easily where they could. Mentally they're moving past the let down of the initial decision and preparing to move on.

Under the circumstances I would think they be able to get a one time transfer waiver if they not already considered "released" by the NCAA.

The foot's in the door. I still have a feeling that means going from needing to roll a 13 to needing to roll snake eyes. However, that means there's now a chance for a win.

Continue the hard fight. My support should be evident in my signature.

This whole situation is the #1 reason why I love college hockey: the sense of community. Thousands of miles apart, hated rivals, big money/glory conferences, small conferences, alums, non-alums, parents, former players, band geeks, the guy running the concession stand, some guy who somehow found his way over from D2 football and ended up getting hooked, none of that matters, we can all come together. In the end, we're all one big happy family. It thrills me to see the entire college hockey universe come together when something like this happens.
I blame Dirty and the MTU fans for that myself. Still trying to hit that lotto jackpot to give myself more of a reason to be around here....:o

The right application of money and power right now, they can git er done. Next year's schedule might not be the prettiest, but even if its chock full of D3's, Canadian schools and other exhibition type games, the UAH fans would sure as hell take it considering the alternative.

Silly nerd. Rolling a 13 is easy. Ask any DM.

From the mouth of the devil incarnate himself on Altenkirch: "He chaired the commission that built the New Jersey Devils arena, and, NJIT's club hockey team recently won their conference championship. When Dr. Altenkirch told me the Huntsville community is committed to meet certain funding goals and timelines regarding a Division I program--and that he recommended they be given an opportunity to do so--my support for his decision was an easy one to give."

Congratulations being sent from Sub-tropical New Hampshire.

What a d bag, apparently he didn't think to ask the community for a committment until after cutting the program?
